After a couple successful runs in Abermenai, I realized I was closing in on the RP cap in a hurry (about 100) and I wanted to savor BG0 a little. It then hit me that as a Skald, I could easily run around solo. I have enough speed to choose my battles, and I can put out enough damage quickly to take down most classes. With all the stealthers roaming the BG's most classes have trouble running alone, but with an insta mez, an insta snare, and two insta DD shouts; I'm prepared to take the sneaky bastards down.
Here's the plan…
Turn on speed, roam around the hot spots looking for game. It works best to sweep behind common enemy paths. If I can find a solo character, chances are, they're dead. In running around, you will likely "uncover" a stealther (they will show up with a shadowy form). Target them, shout/shout/styled attack for a stun, snare, hit, mez, hit dead. /hug. Oh, and the important part… run like hell.
Often times these enemies have friends that don't approve of you killing them. Let's say I catch a blue con light tank out and about. Easy pickings, right? Come from behind, close the gap, and WHAM! Start killing them… that's when you see the stealther. Target stealther, mez him, snare the poor half-life blue con and run like hell. Speed will kick on in a few seconds, which should be about how long you were able to sprint. Go far away, find a tree to sit behind, and rest.
Here's my favorite. There's a group of 7 or so albs travelling around. You see them at a distance and move out of their path. Follow behind them and pick out the weakest target that is trailing near the back, usually the guy in the robes (and with a weaker con). Sprint up to close the gap, hit him with a mez, and shout-shout-styled attack. Maybe one more hit and they are dead before their group knows he's gone. Turn tail and run like hell. Nine times out of ten they have no chance to catch you. They will not believe that someone was so brash as to attack a group when running solo. Example 1 Example 2
Oh, and targets in the water are sitting ducks. Quack quack.
Stay moving, try to always have surprise on your side, hit hard and run fast.
