Subject says it all. WTF, a volley of arrows pincushions me and I get neither an arrow sticking in my for direction, nor do I get my pets to engage that which is attacking me when they are on defensive. <i></i>

volly will aggro pets..its just that pets have a set aggro range..and wont aggro anything beyond clip range... ;/
just ask one of the many scouts who have fired into mpk at half range and accidently hit a couple of bonedancer pets..pets will aggro....
as far as an arrow pointing a direction? well it wouldnt do any good..and would also look inacurate..volly is supposed to be a lobbed arrow high into the air..allowing it to clear walls...so firing into a keep from the bottom of the hill would end in an arrow looking like it came out of the ground?
other than that it wouldnt help much on finding a vollier, since volly can be fired from extraordinary range..over hills...and walls... by the time you got into range the vollier would be long gone..especially since they'd know you were coming (since they stopped hitting you)
as far as volly not breaking bladeturn.. its hard to say...in duels it has never broken bladeturn, neither has longshot, according to the patch notes it is supposed to, and according to people on the recieving side in rvr it does sometimes..and other times it doesnt. <i>Edited by: Reptile at: 7/31/03 1:10 pm </i>

Actually, the commander will aggro at no matter what range you hit him at. Healer pets will not send the commander in defense if they are hit. The commander will not go to defend when I am hit. I have never had a volley break bladeturn, or a longshot.
In real life archers aren't invisible. Every arrow has a vector. Unless you have an amazing crosswind, shooting one straight up, won't hit anyone but you coming straight down. That's physics. Nor are the guards protecting people oblivious to those getting killed. <i></i>

Pets wont aggro targets outside of their, and their masters range. Why should a pet be able to see and target things at a greater range than their masters? This was entirely intentional.
Every arrow has a vector..but that vector is not nessarily a straight line between the bow and the target. Mythic currently has nothing coded to take into account the arc of the path that an arrow would take to reach a target, and therefore can not code a correct angle for the arrow. I'd rather not see another half-imped "feature" added to the game, and obviously whoever implemented volly felt the same way when they left the arrow graphic out. Its not a bug, its intentional.
If you cant see the guy hitting you, why should a guard be able to? Again, not a bug, intentional. <i></i>

Anytime you want to shoot my commander from your longest range, you're welcome to. It does aggro anything at any range that attacks it. Range has nothing to do with the issue. It's a problem with volley specifically. You're welcome to try it on me at a pk if you think your right.
Hit the commander, he defends Hurt me with anything that breaks bladeturn from any range, the commander defends Hit me with a volley, not breaking bladeturn, from 5 feet away, the commander just stands there. <i></i>
