Interesting how even 50 weap/50 cs Ripper still sometimes does less damage then Leaper... other times ripper does the "70" damage while Leaper does the "50 to 60" damage.

Methinks only fixing Ripper to use CS instead of thrust will also need to be accompanied by other fixes seeing this is 4th in a chain. I hope I'm not way out in left field when I say ripper should nearly always outdamage all the other hamstring chain styles. It's hard to get off and a 50 spec style.

Just remember that Rib Sep needs fixing as much as Ripper does.

And since I don't have 2.5 spec points I really can't afford to spec CS to 50, so I'm much more concerned about Rib Sep than Ripper.

PS: If you really want to fix Ripper, while still making it the 4th style of the evade chain, it should at the very least outdamage PA.

Some ideas for Ripper (possibly choose #3 + either 1 or 2 if all 3 would be too powerful):

1. Extremely low, if practically no endurance consumption with H+ to hit, instead of H to hit.

2. REAL bleed effects, stackable with all other bleed/dot effects (25 1st tick, 20 2nd, 15 3rd, 10 4th, 5 final tick)

3. Increased growth rate over current rate, whatever it may be (I notice Wyrd doesn't have it listed in his style sheet).

Can anyone tell me how many samples of Ripper they think I'll need to figure out the growth rate? I probably couldn't stomach thousands of Ripper trials (because that would mean tens of thousands of hamstring chains) but if it's only a couple hundred I could probably pull off some data.

Vex, I'm not sure, but I think the reason Ripper doesn't show a growth rate is because it's bugged and it's hard to get consistent results from testing it.

I think its growth rate is probably set ok and that the bugs need to be worked out of it. I'd say once they fix the bug (working based in some crazy way on weapon skill instead of CS), we can see if the damage needs to be adjusted. I just think the damage needs to scale up throughout the chain. Something like: 150 160 175 200. Then with + to-hit scaling slighly downward like: VH+, H+, M+, L+.

No, more like something that hits for 300 or so damage reliable, not 300 vs casters and 200-250 vs tanks.

I'd say something like 150 175 200 250 which is still lower that what I'd like to say, but still much better than what we have now. (assuming 100 damage unstyled)

I thought that we all agreed that the fight was over when the inf pulled out his Dragonfang, how would that be any different ?

Besides, I'm talking about my perfs, not what you can get with full OC MP and all the uber loot in the game.

And you won't see this style hitting for 1k+ no matter what, not many lower level sitting targets give you a chance to evade and take 4 styled hits.

If you re-read the original post you'll clearly see I have 50 Thrust, 50 CS yet Ripper underperforms other hamstring styles occasionally..hence other fixes.

I assume the game has just 1 spot for "bleeding" so, I don't think we'll ever see real stacking bleeds.

I'd settle for something that looks like current stacking damage adds. Meaning when a bleed is added to an existing bleed the lowest one is halved and added to the first.

The worst part about bleeds is that they don't work on epic mobs, I was trying the pierce back positiona chain on Legion, hoping to double my damage output, but he'd jsut bleed for 0 damage.

I should have explained better.
The chain would be equally aviable to all assassin classes, the only difference is that an inf has a better chance to pull off the entire chain, sice he can stun before he performs it, and keep you stunned for the entire time.
It just takes 1 evade uring that 4 style long chain, to prevent Ripper from being performed.

And btw, I don't evade while stunned, but that's not really important, I strafe, so you're not hitting me anyway
(don't know if that bug was fixed in 1.62, but it still works fine with me most of the time)
