DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different As of patch 1.79 this quest is no longer being given out, only those with this quest in their journals prior to the 1.79 patch can complete this quest. This quest has been replaced with a new Epic quest, Ragnarok Now (Epic 8). Please note that your steps and tasks may vary. Leif (in Jord) says, "Elizabeth the enchanter has need of your services. Attend to her in Mularn." Elizabeth says, "Welcome. I see word has gotten to you that I need your help. As an enchanter, I am always seeking betters ways of enchanting the weapons and armor that are brought to me. I have studied long and searched hard to learn [the secrets] of the ancient people of this land. The people who lived in the dawn of our land knew the secrets of the gods, and used those secrets to create fantastic weapons. Elizabeth says, "You recently had an encounter with the weapon, Thane's Blood, did you not? As you know, it was no ordinary axe but one enchanted in the old ways. It was said to be blessed by the gods themselves! The ones that crafted these enchanted weapons wrote down the secrets of their enchantments in books and tomes and kept them from the world. As invaders entered our realm, many were destroyed. We thought all were lost until recently. I have learned the location of one of these lost books. I wish to [acquire this tome] to help Midgard from the invaders who seek to destroy us. That is where you come in. Elizabeth says, "I cannot get what is needed to acquire the tome, for I am not trained in the ways of battle. If you will help me obtain what I seek, I shall use the tome to create a special weapon just for you. Will you [aid me] in my quest?" Dialog box: Will you help Elizabeth retrieve the ancient tome she seeks? You have been given the Blessed Enchantments quest. Elizabeth says, "You will not regret the decision to help me, although at times the way will be hard. The tome I spoke of is in two pieces. I only know the location of the first half of the tome. A shaman named Tyia holds the first half. She has sent word to me that she will give me the half she possesses if I will brind her something [she desires]. Elizabeth says, "She desires the heart of a battle-scarred mauler. It is the final component Tyria needs for a charm she wished to make. Travel to Skona Ravine and get the heart. Take it to Tyria in Vindsaul Faste. She will then give you what I seek, along with the location of the second half." Travel to Skona, and right by entrance to Varulvhamn can find battle-scarred maulers. I found mine at 17K, 40K in Skona. Alternate steps: May be asked to bring her the liver if a timberland badger found in Skona Ravine. These can be found at loc 20928, 42182. Or bring her the brain of a timber cat. Also may be asked to "Get a clump of Yeti Fur from a Nordic Yeti in Yggdra's Forest" for step #5 of Blessed Enchantments which can be found West of Arvakr Faste. Tyria says, "So, you've come to me from Elizabeth, have you? I told her what I wanted in exchange for the tome. Do you have the mauler heart?" You give Tyria the Mauler Heart. You receive 104,857,600 experience! Tyria says, "Ah, this is a wonderful mauler heart. I will finally be able to complete that charm I was asked to make. I've been asked to make another charm and I do not have all the things I need for it. Get me [the item] I need, and I will give you both halves of the tome Elizabeth wants. Tyria says, "It is but a trifle really, a small token from [a creature] of the ice and snow." Tyria says, "There are creatures in Yggdra's Forest known simply as blocks of ice. You must seek out one and retrieve its icy heart. Once you have it, return to me and I shall give you the tome." Travel in Yggdra, West of the lake, by Fenrir's outpost to find the Blocks of Ice. Loc of 24400, 11230 Return to Tyria with the heart. Tyria says. "Ah, you have returned. My patrons have been waiting for their protection charms to take with them into the frontier. Please, give me that icy heart. Tyria says, "Here is your tome; although I do not know what good it will do Elizabeth. It is written in ancient Kobold and worth nothing to me anymore, since I cannot read that language. Perhaps she will be able to decipher it. I wish both of you luck." Return to Elizabeth, and return Tome. You are awarded 62,914,560 experience! Elizabeth says, "This is the entire tome! This is beyond my expectations! Now, let me see what is involved in enchanting weapons. Elizabeth says, "Someone in Tyria's family must have been an enchanter in ancient times, or else they copied this book from another. It is written in ancient Kobold, which I happen to know. Part of my training to become an enchanter was to learn all the ancient languages, for many enchantments are in ancient tongues. I bet Tyia did not think I could do so much with this, for that very reason, or else she wouldn't have let it go for such a low price. With this tome, I can enchant many weapons for the brave inhabitants of this land, such as those of the House of Bragi. Now, in the tome, it says there are [three basic things] needed for the enchantment. Elizabeth says, "It's almost humorous, to think that three simple things, when combined in the right amounts, will create such a powerful enchantment. The gods do have a sense of humor after all, it appears. When you hear what the three things are, you would never think to put them together. Well, let me send you out for [one thing] first. According to the book, it will take the longest to prepare. Then I shall have you get the other two. Elizabeth says, "You must travel into Varulvhamn in Skona Ravine. Seek out a werewolf noble and acquire its pelt. Once you have it, return to me." Travel to Varulvhamn and find noble in Lord room. Regardless of what people tell you, if you by yourself or with 1 other, you will just get singles from that room. Had no problem finding a noble in Lord room, and pulling it as a single pull. Alternate task could be to get an arachite Vakt's pincers. These can be found in Spindelhalla, and are very easy to find. Items can also include an Eye of an Ice Giant found in Yggdra or Upland, and a Nordic Yeti found in Yggrda or Upland. Return to Elizabeth with the pelt. Elizabeth says, "Good, you have returned. I must take the pelt and burn it. Give me the pelt please." You give Elizabeth the pelt. You are awarded 62,914,560 experience! Elizabeth says, "The ashes contain the magical property that allows a werewolf to transform himself into a beast or a man. It is that property that will help transform everyday weapons into magical ones. Now, are you ready for the [other items]?" Elizabeth says, "You must travel to Uppland. There hunt for the wyvern and the taiga cat. From the wyvern, get a scale. The scale contains many magical properties of the gods and is essential to the enchantment. From the taiga cat, bring me a claw. The claw will add sharpness to the weapons I enchant. Return to me when you have both." Have to get Wyvern first. I got mine by Glenlock (forgot screenshot). Have to get a claw from Taiga Cat second. I saw many of these in Yggdra while looking for block of ice, and got mine there instead of Uppland (33778 31074 in Uppland, also 28639 42448 in Uppland). Return to Elizabeth with both. Elizabeth says; "Ah, the legendary scale of the wyvern. This is perfect. Now, the taiga claw please. I cannot use the new enchantments without it." Elizabeth says, "Thank you for the claw. The enchantment is complete. Now you must pick your reward. Which do you desire - [one handed] or [two handed] or a [shield]. Choose carefully, for once your choice is made; you cannot change your mind. After turning in both items to Elizabeth, gain 62,914,560 experience as well Two Handed Conclusion: Elizabeth then says; "Now chooose your weapon - [sword], [axe], or [hammer]. Again, choose carefully for you cannot change once you voice your selection." Axe Conclusion: Elizabeth says; "An axe, eh? Give me but a minute and I shall have it." You are awarded 1 gold, and some silver! You are awarded 83,886,080 experience! You have finished the Blessed Enchantments Quest Overall, I gained a bub and half of XP from this quest. I did it first thing when I turned 40, and didn't fight other creatures - just the quest. Lvl 46 reports getting 158,934,400 xp for quest. ________________________________________ For Valkyries: For valkyries Elizabeth sends you to find the brains of a timber Cat found at the following grid: /loc 14300 28000 right down from the stable wench heading south. Tyia sent me to get a Block of Ice, in NF they are the following grid: /loc 60000 36000 inside the safe zone of Yggdra. just go due south from Yggdra gate staying to the left of the divide. You'll pass a Camp of Snow Vendo then pass that are Ice gaints (blue). Mix in are Wyverns (yellow) and Blocks of ice (Yellow). All cons are to a lvl 40. Also I was sent to kill a WW Noble then back to kill a Wyvern then Taiga Cat. The last 2 ca be found in the same area as Block of Ice and count towards the encounter. Rewards: |

For my second item, I was asked to find an eye from an Ice Giant. They are in Yggdra Forest north of Arvakr Faste and west of the Fenrir Fort at 33096, 12622.

Elizabeth gave me the choice of a one handed or two handed sword, a shield, or a spear. The spear is:

For valkyries Elizabeth sends you to find the brains of a timber Cat found at the following grid: /loc 14300 28000 right down from the stable wench heading south. Several of them wanding around. Con Yellow/Orange to a lvl 40.
Tyia sent me to get a Block of Ice, in NF they are the following grid: /loc 60000 36000 inside the safe zone of Yggdra. just go due south from Yggdra gate staying to the left of the divide. As a savage, I didn't have any messages in my quest box to see anybody nor did my trainer tell me where to go. On a whim, I went to see Elizabeth in Mularn and she did give me the quest. I think that's a bug or something.

with new frontiers loaded the area has totally changed. In Yggdra forest go directly south of entrance past the bone eaters camp to find the ice block. I found it at 58621,33703 by a pair of ice giant that were blue to my lvl 40 thane. after returning to elizabeth with the heart,return to the same location in yggdra 58.6k,33.7k and go to the right over the hill to find wyverns and taigas

Found taiga cat at 33778 31074 in uppland.

Just a heads up, I did not find a battle-scarred mauler near Varulvahm, instead I killed a hill cat and received a catbrain...this seems to work instead of the other options listed above. I did kill the badger and reveived nothing, so perhaps the quest has changed. Hill cats are near Varul. that is what worked for me.

At level 46 I got 158,934,400 xp, so probably the same ratio of XP-to-Level as what you would get at level 40... Just left all the epic quests til now, from Thane's Blood to Blessed Enchantments

I am now a lvl 45 skald and have not done my lvl 4o quest! I went to my trainer and no dice , nothing . So I go to the enchantress and she says nothing either(silent treatment)...does anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

did you complete the other trainer's quests? (travelers way, rasczels bane, red daggers) you wont get the lv 40 quest before completing these.

Weapon descriptions don't indicate if all the weapons have the same proccing HEAT damage.

the next 2 items can be found at 20k, 65k. wyvwern, con lowora, some yellow to me at 40. taigacat at 30k, 30k, blue.

same to me. i play at lyonesse/europe and my items were a brain of a timbercat (skona), eye of an icegiant (yggdra) and now a claw of an arachnit-vakt (spindel)....

Strange, on europe, my warrior had to find other things...instead of a mauler a badger, the block of ice was turned to a yeti now i have to find an arachit-vakt-claw....
