Rasczel's Nose

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest. You must complete the Travler's Way quest first. This is the level 11 epic quest for Skalds. Your trainer in Jordheim tells you he wants the hobyah named Rasczel's nose. He is said to be located in the deep forest near Jordheim. Go to Fort Veldon, the hobyah's only spawn at night and can be seen from one of the Fort Veldon buildings, just West (loc=41549, 4816 Vale of Mularn). There are many hobyahs. Rasczel is a named hobyah and Rasczel spawns there but he doesn't always drop his nose. Make sure you get the one named "Rasczel's nose", as there are lots of hobyah noses. (It's been mentioned that you can obtain Rasczel's nose from any hobyahs.) Bring it back to your trainer for a magic item. \n |

My 11th season skald keeps getting real bad aggro each time i try to kill Rasczel and i have to motor out of there. What should i do?

Maybe try grouping with some people, you should still be able to complete the quest in a group.

Went on the zerker quest. Yep. its right next to the fort. It appears they show about 8 or 9 and leave at EXACTLY 6 am. But there is lotsa killing to be done between then. Got about 3 bubs outta that nite. Anyway you get a lvl 12 zerker necklace +6 hits +4 str. Pretty nice item. Easy quest.

I got this quest as a skald from my skald trainer Leif in Jordheim.
The quest was refered to as "Rasczel's Nose" though, not Bane.
1) Go to Fort Veldon north of Jordheim
2) Wait until dark
3) Go west of the merchants/smith in town
4) Watch out for the big angry Vendos.
5) Hang in the periphery (there's a good hill side to use as a lookout post to the south)
6) Wait for Rasczel to spawn
7) Attack him, he will say something like "I have given my nose away to a hobya" Kill Rasczel.
8) Kill any three Hobyas around. The third will drop the nose
9) Go back to Leif in Jordheim and get yur necklace.

wandered around the camps and fort veldon looking for hobya at night. didn't see a single one. lots of rabid wolves, hill cats and other assorted agro, but no hobya. i was there from 10pm night to 5am, but no sign of them. is there an exact local that I should be looking at?

I killed Rasczel about 20 times no drop then I started to kill any hobya that moved and got the nose in about 3 kills.Why would someone else have your nose??????

If you read the message that Rasczel says, he tells you that he switched noses with another hobyah so you can't find it. He basically taunts you with this info. And to your comment about why would someone else have his nose, keep in mind they are a form of undead. Switching noses, or any body part for that matter, is as simply as you and me exchanging car keys, or (to be more game related) putting stuff in a trade window and switching items that way. (I did this quest with an alt zerker.)

A level 12 spiritmaster can't get this quest so I don't think it's for all classes.

this loc is right. rasczel spawned right on me. he wqas green to lvl 16 and sis not drop his nose, but the next hobya i killed did.

bummer is the normal noses you get cannot be sold. =( Gotta sit there whacking hobbies til you get the right nose for the quest.

Im a 12th almost 13th lv skald and have not been given this quest by my trainer... haven't gotten any quests in the last three levels :( somthing im doing wrong?
In Jordheim there seem to be TWO trainers for each class. One gives quests, the other trains.

i'm a lv 14 hunter. i've been goin to the same trainer in jordhiem (sometimes i go to ft atla to train with the other one). he gives out quests alright but he hasn't for the past 4 levels...

The quest told me to bring Raczcal's nose to Haaken. I killed Racscal, and he dropped a "hobyah nose" which I brought to Haaken and he told me "I can sniff out a real nose ... this is not Raczcal's nose ..." and my nose disappeared. What gives?? Strangely also, the Berserker trainer who gave me the quest was the troll upstairs in Jordheim. It asked me to bring the nose to Haaken. Anyone else have this experience? I kind of feel ripped off!

The nose you need is called "Raczcals Nose" and is dropped in the area where you found him. The trick is that he does not have his own nose (smile), it is dropped by one of the other hobya. Just kill them till you get the right nose.

That Raczcal is a tricky devil -- easily dispatched -- and I am a wicked, but lazy troll! Time to go feed a whole tribe of hobya some serious axeblades ...

Hobyas are west of Fort Veldon? All I've seen are a crapload of vendo camps.

Did this quest today. Hobya's are night spawn ghost looking things. I found 'em just south of the merchants at Fort Veldon. Watch for the Bone collectors. They conned orange to me at Lvl 11 and can Paralyze you. Cheers!

My berserker trainer sent me also, i received a necklace for the Berserker, + to Strength and quickness.

I believe if a quest starts with a class trainer NPC, then it's probably a class specific quest since my shaman has never been able to talk with a non-Shaman trainer.

My hunter hit 11 yesterday, got the dorga hunter epic quest. Hit 12 this morning, didn't get any quest when I trained. Think this is a class specific.

Note: They only spawn at night from my experiance. They spawn just down the hill from the crumbling building to the west of Fort Veldon.

i also just received the Taldos quest. any help would be great, Myrkwood is not a good place to wander around!

I have received this quest also. I am in Myrkwood now and have found Taldos and his companions. I talked to Taldos and he said to be able to release him I must get his medalion back from a person or thing called Arakan. Where this little bugger is I have no clue. If you find him or it I would like to know where to find it also.
BTW...Taldos spawns between 4am and 9am in Myrkwood. As you are coming into Myrkwood, go to your left towards Galplen. There will be a small ditch (brown in color) on your left. He spawns on the other side of ditch against the hills with several of his companions. They are all yellow and neutral to me at lvl 11. If you get there early or late one companion will still be hanging around. That is how I found where to look for him.
If you go into a small village called Gna Faste (?) you went to the right and will have to backtrack.

I have found the end of the quest for Taldos' Amulet.
After you talk to Taldos (see above re:) you need to go to your North east Towards Gna Faste. There is a pine tree in the road that can be used as a landmark for when to turn off to find Arakane. He is in the trees to the right of the road a little distance in. He was blue to me at Lvl 11. (I was with an 18 lvl Runemaster who torched him with one shot, I still got the Amulet though). After you get the amulet you need to go to talk to Taldos again. He spawns in the same place as above, but he spawns at around Midnight til 9 in the morn. Talk to him and give him the Amulet. He gives it back to you and gives you exp. The Amulet is Magical...don't recall exactly what bonuses but they are str. dex. and hit point buffs.

Any hobya can drop it, so keep killing till you get the named nose

When you kill Rasczel the first time, he'll spout something off about the nose being on another hobya. Basically, you'll have to sit there after you kill him and kill all the other hobya's until the drop his specific nose. They all drop hobya noses, just not Rasczels'. Took me a bit to find it.

this quest is for Skalds and Zerkers. My zerker got a necklace called berserker strength I forget the stats but its a Str one.

The quest reward for the skald (or at least my skald character) is the "Skald's Medallion", a nice neck piece with the following stats:

Sounds like there is a level 11 quest for all classes, but it's not the same. I just made 11 with a Thane and I was given a quest to find a person named Tildos and retrieve a necklace given to them by Thor.

I was just given that quest also..wandered around myrkwood to find him and got killed..going to get guild together and find him...will post the loc I saw him at when I do get it..and any extra steps you need.

He's at 28k, 5k and he spawns at midnight. The guy he sends you to kill is at 4.5k, 15.5k. Reward is an amulet with some good stats but I forget what they are. Will post tomorrow after I check again.
