I have done this one twice, the first a year ago with my armswoman with no problems. With my theurgist the ghost at Barrows wouldnt spawn until I zoned out of Barrows with the Collar on. I made the mistake of taking it off and giving it to the ghost first, which he didn't want, and with it off he would not take any of the quest items.

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per Patch 1.60: - Hands of Fate: The Shade of Ambrosius should be working correctly again. Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest. If you still have the Scroll of Fate and the Tome of the Dead, AND the Ebony collar of the dead you pulled from that Kobold that's just beyond the HUGE bridge north of Ludlow. You give these items to the Loremaster found in the Academy in Camelot. He tells you to come back when you are level 30 (Chaplain for a friar). When you see the Loremaster when you are level 30 (this is where hands of fate begins), he deciphers the meaning of all 3 items and what you must do. He says something about finding the one true sword (Excalibur obviously), and finding those whose sleep is restless in the Salisbury plains, he also mentions something about merging the items to become immortal. After a bit of searching around, I figured out that the spectre I was looking for was at the entrance to Stonehenge Barrows (Make sure you are wearing the Collar of the Dead when you approach Stonehenge). His name is "Shade of Ambrosius Aurelianus". He will be up for anyone with the quest in their journal regardless of time of day. So I found him, some talking (looks like a guard) spectre, I handed him both the scroll and the book. Morgana promptly appears and they guard and Morgana do battle (Morgana was purple to me at level 30, though non-agro). She lights this dude up like a Christmas tree and he dies. Then she takes the book and the scroll, and warns me to never interfere with his affairs again. She disappears and I found a nice shiny new staff called Haze (yellow) which deals 11dps and spd 3.0. I don't think this quest is finished....only because I can't believe I was supposed to let Morgana live and let evil prevail, but her fireball killed the spectre (who was purple to me) so attacking her would have been pointless. Oh I almost forgot I received a full bubble of exp after Morgana disappeared. sceptre is blue to level 47, morgana purp to lvl 47 ^.^
Did the quest as soon as I hit 30, and only got .4 xp. <shrug>

I too can't give em the collar, I appealed and it was escalated to the quest team. I'll post their fix, it i ever get it.

I had to put the collar on and run into barrows then back out. It was the middle of the afternoon, so time isn't important.

My journal says to go to Salisbury Plains and look for answers there. The ghost that is referred to up top near Stonehenge...Ive seen him in the past, but hes not there now. Do i need to do something to trigger his spawn, or does he wander around now?

Ok .. so Morgana Kills the Ghost .... Has any one tried to kill the ghost instead of giving the ghost the items .. thus not trigering Morgana?

I have heard people have tried to attack Morgana, whole hoards of high levels, and they all miss. It seems the game is not going to let anyone have the slightest opportunity to let you kill her. So just take your stupid little quest and reward and be happy damnit! ;)

Did this as a 30 armsman and got some nice plate gauntlets. 60AF plus bonuses to str, slash, thrust, and con, if I remember correctly.
