I did some more tests although not RvR tests but PvE tests vs savage wyverns and icestrider interceptors. I already had AP3 for the icestriders so I can no longer test lower versions of Avoid Pain though I wish I could. In the following results, the same NPC was used per trials to eliminate the varying levels of spawns and reflect less dmg variance. In other words, no wyverns or icestriders were harmed in the filming of this movie.

Savage Wyvern in front of Raumarik, 26% thrust resist from items. Tests of AP1, AF1, AP1 + AF1 prior to all previous tests.

AVG DMG taken while AP1 is on : 45.6(-8.6)
AVG DMG taken while AP1 is off : 57.5(-10.9)

AVG DMG taken while AF1 is on : 52.4 (-9.9)
AVG DMG taken while AF1 is off : 59.0 (-11.0)

AVG DMG taken while AP1 and AF1 is on : 43.9(-8.4)
AVG DMG taken with neither RA in effect : 59.1(-11.1)

AVG DMG over all tests w/o RA in effect: 58.53(-11)

AP1: (58.53 - 45.6) / 58.53 = 22.1% dmg absorb
AF1: (58.53 - 52.4) / 58.53 = 10.48% dmg absorb
AP1 + AF1: (58.53 - 43.9) / 58.53 = 25% dmg absorb

This just seems odd to me that it supposed to be 10% melee absorb but its showing 22% less dmg, perhaps the wyvern rolled some bad rolls?!? Again we see that AF + AP does not stack additively.

THIRD RUN OF TESTS - ICESTRIDER INTERCEPTOR 26% thrust resist from items, Avoid Pain3, Armor of Faith2

AVG 71.6 (-13.7) NO RA

AVG 44.4 (-8.3) AP3
(71.6 - 44.4) / 71.6 = 38% dmg absorb

AVG 62.4 (-11.9) AF2
(71.6 - 62.4) / 71.6 = 12.85% dmg absorb

AVG 38.8 (-7.4) AP3 + AF2
(71.6 - 38. / 71.6 = 45.8% dmg absorb

Comparing this to the warrior duel tests, the AF2 absorbed less % dmg in this pve fight than in the duel fight, and only slightly more % dmg than the AF1 test vs the wyvern. Don't really know why, but it seems to me Armor of Faith is not a very good realm ability to invest in.

Avoid pain seems worthwhile depending on how you look at a fight...You will see a big difference in dmg taken if someone it hitting you for a big dmg swing like say a LW hammer champion who usually lands 400+ dmg hits on my skald. You're still going to be taking some decent sized dmg from his swings so you will still need some sort of way to increase the duration of the fight for this RA to really pay off. If you die quick, what a waste of dmg absorb. Now say you are fighting an INF, or NS who is wielding very very quick thruster type weapons. You won't notice the dmg absorb just my looking at the numbers right off. But since he is swinging really fast for small amounts of dmg...over time the length of the fight is extended greatly, and this to your advantage since your dmg absorb is lasting for its full effect, giving you a better chance to receive a heal or whatever you need to do to win the fight. Not to say if you're fighting a 2h user its not worth it, I think making him swing an extra 1 or 2 swings to kill you with his big weapon is another 4 to 10 seconds you have to kill him or escape. Combing AP with IP is effectivly doubling the effect of the dmg absorb (by increasing overall dmg you can take) as long as the dmg absorb is still active while you hit IP and take more dmg. It does however worry me that the tests are showing different dmg absorbs than as described by the RA documentation, but none of the tests have shown any dmg absorbs less than the advertised percentage meaning to me that you may get more but you probably won't receive less of what you expect.

One thing i noticed from my fights with the savage wyvern and the icestriders(both of which do thrust dmg) my dmg absorb from my armor was ~16% in every test I did. I have 26% thrust resist from items. This would mean that midgard chainmail armor is only 10% vulnerable to thrusting damage. I was under the impression that it was a 15% vulnerability to thrust for quite a long time. But it really only looks like 10% vuln to me now.
