RE: Has anyone found a 5-50 leveling guide for a BD yet? |

Lets start one.... Smart ideas starting out... 1-20 Kill tasks from guards!! I'd recommend do Aegirhamn as a starting city because there are 7 guards in and around it. As you close on 14 or so go to Djarken, the kill tasks will be closer to the guards.. Normal route 1-5 --Near the town of entry, just kill yellows and blues and try to group if you can. 6 -- You won't have your heal yet so I'd recommend you go to the guard tower just across the bridge from Aegirhamn and up the hill. Do the myggas through level 6. They are weak to staves and you can run for help to the two guards at the tower if you get in over your head. (DO NOT bug tendril. Trust me. Also beware at night the area across the road is a hang out for badd things at your level) 7-9 Healing spell, yea! I'd recommend two areas. First, do the large skele's near algerhamn at the first curve of the road. Also myggas are there to help level with. Be on the lookout for the rare biting insect and a wandering psychas thingy and you'll do fine. young scimater kats also are good prey. Just over in normal Daoc you can do the sand crabs at this lvl. 9-12 Got the next lifetap if you're supp speced.. go to the other side of the river near nailtan and do the pooks. Good loot for your lvl to get a couple of gold with. Also you might want to to the morvalts across the second bridge near aegirhamn. Good magical cloth drops from time to time with them, just be on your guard for adds... Dungeon Niesse is a good option as we.. 13-15 Nissie can be done solo for good experience.. Area around Gna Faste to the werewolf camp is a good area for experience... mammoth calfs are good outside of Aegirhamn is good 16-18 the area around 2nd bridge for the boobries is good, psych things are good as well as biting insects outside of aegirhamn, also near Djarken the morvalts are decent, some young scimitar cats are good just outside of the bone tunnel end of aegirhamn. 19-22 Darkness fall is okay, rats are toast some orange fiends start to be able to be harvested ... Vendo caverns are excellent... Ash spiders in Musp.... Young Mammoths outside of Djarken are excellent as well as the movalts. (nice drops there!) Plated fiends are orange and red at lvl 22 in DF, you can do single oranges easily if you are supp spec'd. Also, Psylings right outside of Aegirhamn near the scimitar cats are good, and they do drop a magic item or so on occasion. 23-27 Drowned souls outside of Knarr are great, mist thingys that are nearby Knarr are good.. Giant boobries are okay but they baf alot... Shard Golems are excellent just outside of Aegirhamn... Vendo is still great! Lots of things in Musp for this lvl range. Darkness Falls, Darkness Falls, Darkness Falls... super for this time. Start working your way down the ramp. 28-30 Musp has great places for you! Charred skeles, lots of giants, lizards, tons of prey for the late twenties. Also in Si just farther out from knarr is an island with some critters that should be coming into range to hunt. Crystal things, mushroom thingys I can't remember the names of are there... Start doing your quest if you haven't yet too.. they lead you into some good hunting areas. 30-32 Mushroom things near the Crystal things in Muron Sound are decent. Some Tidal grips are in this range.. In df the plate fiends are blue and green to you.. as you move down the ramp the first flying tempters are now orange and yellow. Some places in Vendo are perfect still. The bottom room in vendo is perfect for lvl 30... Musp is a playground now, perfect for leveling. In Si the Chilly Skeles near Bjarkin are excellent and they have GREAT magic cloth armor drops. Even better, there are these savage looking "protectors" that walk by the two chilly skele's house on the path that are great ex at 32 and easy to go down. They are on a fast spawn cycle and every 3 min there is another yellow walking down the road. Made it from 32 to 33 in a hour doing them. Between 30-35 there is so much you can do! I have to say the amount of good hunting areas abound for this lvl range. 35 the Coral things are red / orange / yellow in Murin Sound, the ingesters are all yellow. Some of the sea "bugs" are easy harvesting at this level. The Avernal Quansits and deamontrides (sp) are yellow and lilispawns are all blue. Just for fun I took a spin around Muspheim and everything there was blue with a few yellows sprinkled around. Payback time to those fire giants!! Yea! In vendo you can go down the the orges and all and still find yellow/orange baddies to nail there pretty much on your own. more to come |

Reading above, I'd think someone followed my BD around from 1-30! lol But here's my add. 1-20: Aggreed; as many kill tasks as you can do. I don't know SI well (at least, the names of places), but if you port from Nailten and go through town, over the bridge and up the hill you'll find a guard tower. At the right levels, you'll get kill tasks for Myggas, and they'll probably be gray to you. Excellent experience! 10-12ish: West of Gna Faste is a hill with Willows on it. Clear out the hill and move west into the field. More willows! I believe these are two different mobs, so you can move around and keep the camp bonus good. Also, if it gets too low, you can cross the street for some tinglers (not great tinglers yet!). 26-28: The Drowning Souls in Munin Sound are awesome for XP and loot. To keep the camp bonus going, you've got shale gollums right next to them. 28-30: This is when you're going to want to head to skona... maybe a little ealier if you can get a good group. Try the Ra of the Pines and Ra of the Oak near the horse (opposite side from varuv). 30-34: You should be loving skona right now. From the horse, head towards Varuv. There is a willow tree here that has two Ra of the willows around it. One will pop inside it, and the other will pop outside and he runs around. Pull one, kill it. Pull the other, kill it. About the time you kill the second one, the first one pops again. Very nice XP. **NOTE: I've told a few other people about this spot, and they never took advantage of it. This is honestly one of the nicests solo spots I've found in the game. Very rarely do they BAF, but just be ready with your root. If you get into trouble, the horse lady will protect you. ** You'll also want to work on your faction so you can make use of Varuv and Spind. At the foot of the hill where Varuv sits is a line of Werewolves. You should be able to get yourself quite a few levels here while increasing your faction. The entrance to Varuv is very good XP, too. Specifcially, the Werewolf Churls drop lost peals which you can return in Galplen for 4.5million XP. Spiders in varuv are great if you've got a group, if not, wait until they are yellow and oj to you (instead of oj and red). They don't BAF but they are TOUGH to solo. 35-37 (possibly 38): Being very careful, head over to Vanern Swamp and solo (or group if you can)mud crabs. The Mud Crab claws can be turned into Galplen for XP (not sure how much as I waited until 36 to try this task... didn't work, but I've been giving everyoen my claws!). Also, in Skona, there are some human-like casters called Side Gote (I know I spelled that wrong). There are two with similar names; one that look like the hudlus and one that look like humans. Careful of the human like ones, as they are casters. One of them can mess you up real quick, so make sure you drop a life tap on them and nuke'em to keep them from casting! At level 36, they were dropping 9.5mill xp and easy to take down as long as I got the jump. If you can get a good group in Spind, do it. I've seen a level 39 go to 40 in a few hours. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like dungeons, so I usually stick to entrances or soloing. So now we've got enough information to get people to 37, and probably 38-39, how about some 38+ tips! |

This is a SB guide but it should work whit BD Up to level 5: Doesn't matter. Kill things in newbieland. Enjoy these two hours of mindless romping. Levels 5 and 6: Svewolf mothers north of the Audliten fort. They are level 5 critters, and weak to your slashing attack. They also have a weak attack against leather (thrust). Levels 7, 8, and 9: Get thee to Fort Atla. There are poison vendors and a trainer there, so this will be your base of operations. Head south towards Galplen and cross the bone bridge near Naliten. To your left will be a larghe field of carrion crawlers and carrion eaters (and a few tawny lynx - avoid them like the plague). These critters are very good targets for shadowblades, since they have a thrusting attack. They also are not social or aggro, so you can count on fighting one at a time. When these critters start to go green on you, there are higher level ones a little farther south and west. Go to the south shore of the lake and follow the road west. You'll run right into a group of the higher level ones. This can easily take you to level 10. Levels 10-11: Head south to Galplen and bind there. wim across the lake there toward the hut on the other side (Gna Faste). While swimming, keep a sharp lookout for Njessi, the lake monster, as she'll ruin a perfectly good swim otherwise. Our targets for this level are grey worgs, shadows, and decaying trolls, all of which can be found in the area right next to the Gna Faste hut and guard tower. Their armow is weak against slashing, and their attack is weak against leather - what a combination! Levels 12-16: Trees Trees Trees! From Gna Faste, head along the road southeast from the guard tower, along the lake shore. To your left will be a stand of weeping willows. These critters are aggressive, but not social - you can often pull one away from a friend standing next to him. Their armor is very weak against slashing - they will go down fast. However, they do have a nasty direct damage spell that can and will take you out once or twice in these levels. There are two other areas of these willows if you head northwest from the Gna Faste hut along the road, on your right, by the lake shore. These are popular to hunt and will often be camped, but I have found there to be no better targets for these levels. Huginfel at lvl 14 you can do kill task that give you 50,000(exp). Lots of Blue - Orange's out there. Levels 17-18: From Gna Faste, head northwest along the road until you get to the weepin willow area. Turn west and head into the forest. You will soon hit tinglers, great tinglers, and arachites. The tinglers will be green/blue to you and not a big problem, but not very great hunting either. Th great tinglers and arachites will be from blue to orange and are excellent hunting. Thheir attack ir weak against leather (noticing a trend here?) but they are social and will mob you if you aren't careful. In particular, watch for the arachite priests - they cast root on you and will heal their friends, so they are your primary target if you happen to pull two at once. These levels are tricky, and might be better done in a group. Levels 16-21: Great tinglers are a fine target, since they have a penalty to their attack against leather. They can be found near Gna Faste, to the NW. Levels 19-22: More Trees! We've graduated to Shrieking Willows now, who are a lot like their little friends the weeping willows, but these have a lot bigger direct damage spell. They can be found all around the lake to the west of Gna Faste. The Werewolf spawns by the Shrieking willows near the entrance to Skona. No adds, Quick easy kills. They sit still for you 22 at. Southwest area of Skona ravine towards the corner is a spot with giant tree frogs, woodland badgers, and dryad blossoms and greenthumbs. These were all yellow, but went down fairly easily. I had maybe 3 deaths and I did a complete level here. It is off the beaten path, so it is rarely hunted. The mobs all have a nice bonus, which really helps. Adds are possible here, but by this level if you've been soloing a SB you know to check your 6 before attacking. Another spot to go in these levels is West Svealand to hung rabid and frothing sveawolves. If you go this route (they are usually less camped than the trees), bind in Audliten, head to the fort to the north of there, and follow the road west. When the road branches to the north, heading to Vindsaul faste, just keep going west. Eventually, you'll see a fortress ahead of you. Do not try to make friends there, it's full of blodfelags. There will be a place where the road forks again. This is the start of the wolf spawning area. They are levels 18-22 or so, and are ideal targets. The only bad thing is that they are aggro and social, so be careful of your surroundings while hunting there. Levels 23-31: The frontiers and Muspleheim offer good hunting for these levels. In Muspelheim, the fire ants and soor harvesters are nice targets - but be careful of the ants, they will go boom (a direct damage spell) and like to gang up on you. In the frontiers, either Uppland or Yggdra, you'll find chislers and frosty scuttlebugs to hunt. Up to this point, you could probably handle yellow con critters just fine, but I personally backed off and started fighting blues during these levels. When the scuttlebugs and chislers go green on you, it's time for white wolves, but only the blue ones! plasmatasms near the lord fire spawn in Muspelheim, from the bridge it takes them a while to get to you so usually they dont get even 1 hit in. plus there's lots of them so you only stop for endurance. Level 32 I'm not taking on raukomaz, seared skeletons and mephic ghouls. I prefer teh raukomaz but they spawn slowly, ghouls are great as the spear of elements gives a nice fat bonus against them Levels 35-39 The Werewolf Guard spawns along the edges of Skona Ravine. Same reasoning. No adds, Quick easy kills. They sit still for you. *with these make sure you move after you kill em, and fast. Sometime they will respawn in 5 seconds, meaning you have to fight another. Levels 38/39 trees in SW skona by the skogs. Clear the skogs with a friend till no scouts are left then do trees with no problems.. you often find hunters here pickin off trees too, so you can work together to get rid of skog scouts. Sometimes other groups come through and nail the skogs while trying to find the 1 drop spawn.. you'll know where it is if you hang here a while. Don't tell 'em, its fun to watch 'em squirm! Levels 40-45 Spindels that are inside on the left hand side near the crab room in Spindelhalla, i know i take people in there to PL and as long as you get your styles down you can get a yellow, needs more testing but i think it can work... so if your template is strong and you should be able to take the yellow cons Spindels and Spindel Silksters. These are non BAF, no aggroes in the whole area. They hit really soft with huge negatives to damage. I usually see 100 damage (-21) on these. Even when they were red. Spindels have been bread and butter since level 41 or so, and I woulda been there sooner if I had known about them. I'm still soloing there at 45, just because they die so fast and cause so little damage. To get to spindels, go to spindelhalla, head into the crab/scorpion area from thralls and make two lefts. The whole area is full of neutral spindels, with an occassional arachite or hallaratta that might be aggro. Be aware that the arachites will sometimes call for help which will bring the spindels down on you like a ton of trolls. Also, every 1000 fights or so the spidels will baf on you even when solo. I've had this happen about 5 times now, and had an arachite call for help once. Needless to say, your life expectancy goes down a lot in these situations WW's in Varulvhamn are good, Level 40 do the little mephit guys right near there (SW skona). They nuke but RARELY, and they are plentiful, non social, and go down pretty well. Level 41 varulv.. do werewolfs at the entrance till ya puke. They all blue and a few yellow, but trust me.. do fast blues cuz they drop so quick the xp is better then takin a beat down from yellows. Level 42 move lower.. look into the dual wolfspider spawn near the lords.. if you kill lords a bunch with a friend when you can, your faction will be very good with all the wolves from those spiders to the entrance.. so if you have to flee you can w/o problems, and usually find somebody on the bridge to help ya out. You can also do lunarians at 42 but they sometimes baf.. I'd go there IF some other guys are there soloing and you can get a mutual back-watching deal going. Its a little social for my tastes, but it works well.. Level 43+ you can keep doing wolfspiders and lunarians, or move to vanern to do clay jotuns (and earn yourself some armour if you were lacking in that department) |

I'd like to add: 37 - 40 Still keep on the mud crabs, especially at 39. Very easy to kill, very safe, and you'll nail a good 1/2 bub in 20 minutes or less. Watch your power, dot to pull, nuke once (if you wnat to make the kill go a little quicker), and LT only if necessary. That way, you'll conserve power (of course, omitting the Nuke will help here, too). At 39, all crabs should con yellow; maybe an oj or two popping up, but I haven't seen any. I'll add more as I find good spots! |

At lvl 32\33 sea dauber between Aegir and Hagall, they Baf like crazy but with 2 healer pets they nice to pull, got 2.5-3 million xp all the time I am a Thrust-ship.
I am small and tricky - where you think I am, I probably am not. I can work very fast, but I tend to go about things in a round about way, which often leaves me effectively standing still. I hate rocks. Bloody rocks. What Video Game Character Are You? | |

40 - 43 Do the crab room in Spind. Explore the whole area near the crabs. Carefull for the stingers, they'll poison. There's also a lost Hagbui (or somethign like that) that drops disease, but it doesn't last long. When the camp bonus slows down, or the rooms are camped, move around to another mob. Look for the Spindal Silksters; decent xp with a good camp bonus, and they aren't camped often. |

have to agree with Chireven 100% about crab room in spin, I lived there from 35-42 awsome room. Now 45 i'm hanging out by hagall (vipers/stags) and Iarnvidur lair. Most mobs at entrance are around lvl 50 and u can tank oj/red. Decent xp, lvl 49 drops (few) and it's not camped very often. Raish 45 BD Mid Merlin |
