Still superior? Not even close. Run some tests before running your mouth. As it stands, with equal spec levels, CD/DW winds up doing slightly more damage over time than Left Axe. The reason you see Left Axe users doing slightly more damage is because Left Axe usage REQUIRES a high double-spec to be useful. CD/DW users typically don't spec the line NEARLY as high as a Left Axe user is forced to do...hence, Left Axe users wind up doing more damage over time. Assuming equal spec, you'll find that the situation is REVERSED, however. With the evisceration of Left Axe's usefulness, CD/DW users will see that they do slightly MORE damage over time.
Left Axe wasn't truly more powerful than any other style line, at first. Yes, some very strong-high-damage blows could be delivered, but there was a price to pay - the VERY fast loss of Endurance. A Berserker was able to take down the first enemy he saw...but then would be completely out of Endurance for the remainder of the fight and would hit like a kitten in a wet burlap sack thanks to the base damage penalty associated with Left Axe usage. With the advent of across-the-board Endurance regen, that all changed. Unlimited high-damage styling became the norm and the cries of foul went forth in unheard-of numbers.
The REAL solution to the problem SHOULD have been to leave Left Axe as it stood. To solve the problem, Endurance regen should have been removed from the GAME. It's a bad idea and was implemented horribly. Now, however, Berserkers suffer from poor offense, worse defense AND still have to deal with the massive Endurance usage of Left Axe. The changes to Left Axe were, quite frankly, stupid in the extreme and have only added to Mythic's negative reputation. Isn't it funny how Mythic once told the players that they wouldn't follow the Verant route of nerfing?

you want to say this and you want to say that about "style lines" and weapon specs......roll a friar and play it to 50 completely solo then roll a zerker and play it to 50 completely solo.
i'm not going to say more, just do it and you'll know exactly what i am talking about.
in my opinion even before the 1.62 nerf zerker would never be on my list of classes to play melee in rvr and friar ZOOOOOOM to the top, best melee class i've ever played in this game by far.

Yeah I found that funny too. Wish I could reach out and sla... sigh. They made this thread AFTER the patch to insult us I bet. The LA threads are alot fewer now than they were before patch yet NOW they feel the need to make an official thread for it lol. Talk about mocking people.

I'd have to agree that the nerf was reactionary and not fully thought through. Kronok nails it that tanks need better absorbs. Fix the real problem.
Also, why nerf SB's then give them a single line respec to fix it like every other class got? That was the worst part of the patch and a good indicator Mythic is not thinking things through.

This is only true pre 1.62 AND if the person was specced 50 in Left Axe AND NEVER MISSED>
"A SB with LA 1 and a Infil/NS with DW/CD 1 should do the same amount of styled damage, given ALL other factors being the same.
LA 1 means 62.5% damage with each hand. DW/CD 1 means 25% chance to swing weapon #2. In the end, means each is doing 125% of normal damage. "
NOT TRUE AT ALL. With 1 in Left Axe, the left hand damage variance is huge, the main hand spec does not affect it in any way. Read, built in nerf.
Also, quit making references to the Left Axe Nerfherder bible. He has no Pre-patch lv 50 Left Axe logs, or at least nobody in favor of the Left Axe nerf or those papers are willing to make any public.
