3 things...

1. someone announced in /as that 64 on hurb... hmmm too many for single keep (under 90% of all circumstances).

2. all mids/hibs had dispappeared from emain except for maybe 1 group total

3. when you see (while enroute to merlin AFTER #1 above and suiciding out of emain) - A Boldiam Knight was killed with 136 enemies in teh area. it was a WTF? action...

....

now... to the alb who mentioned in /as that hibs would go for excal, and my response was "maybe that is what they WANT you to think"... /ponder

as i normally say when someone asks whether it's mids or hibs in alb frontier, "what does it matter?"... the correct action is to get to a BK with your group and either A) wait till scouts report on activity then proceed, or B) become a scout group yourself and feed that info back to the cg/as.

it does NOT matter WHO is in our frontier... anyone other than albs in our frontier is a threat, their target is pretty much meaningless if we dont' know numbers/location.

we (alb) did good in responding to this specific attack, MUCH better than other times i can remember off hand.

Simply put Sirand, I'm not going to allow that to happen just because you have a little temper tantrum. There must be another solution, because any group larger than oh... 10 or so just isn't going to leave en masse. And even if, even if all of 4W retired from Albion, I have a sinking suspicion, it'd move to another server instead of rolling Palo/Mid. God knows I wouldn't want to play with you whiny little fucks. Listening to Midgard whine is like listening to Morrisey 24/7 for a month straight.

"Easy mode" has nothing to do with it. Look at the Herald. Fourth Wall is one of the oldest guilds on this server. It is the oldest truly active guild in Albion right now. It's a guild whose leader is going through HELL trying to get 4W to break off from the zerg and promote 8 man groups. That is not an easy thing to walk from, no matter HOW easy it is to say when you get to play the victim.

Yes, Albion has a shitload of one-nut fuckheads who browse the Herald for realm status and hop on over on the fucking wagon. Yes, that is a HUGE problem, and that's what has to be addressed first. Albion is not going to surrender her players over night and the rate of attrition will still be over shadowed by the rate of addition of all those little bandwagoning numb nut fucks. After that, it's going to be hard fucking work: Hib & Mid need more players. But it's not going to happen over night. You might get a guild here and there to move over. But it's not going to happen from all within the server.

Get that into your victimized mentality: PALOMIDES ON ITS OWN IS NOT ABLE TO SOLVE ITS OWN PROBLEMS. This server ABSOLUTELY needs new players. Midgard and Hib absolutely NEED more people, good people, not /level 30 Cale fucknuts, not FOTM nightshade/savage l33t d00dz, but whole crews, GOOD crews, people ready to work with the existing members of Midgard and Hibernia.

That, as of right now, baring some change to the game mechanics, is the only thing that's going to help. It's going to require some hard work, yes. Midgard and Hibernia are going to have to be recruiters on the likes of which the US Army would envy, and Albion... Albion I guess has to be the sad sorry anti social sons of bitches that close our doors and weather the storm until Mythic disables the cup on Palomides.

However, that being said, you have one less "Albion Zergling" to worry about. Not that anyone really woke up late at night with the name "Mertel" dying into a late night scream, but regardless, anytime I log on I think about all this bullshit and it destroys a lot of the fun in the game for me. I've thought about rerolling, but I could never fight against the guild I've given life to, and personally, and maybe this is part of the problem, I really don't feel like helping the other realms here; after all that's said and done, I still can't let go of all the bitterness this server spews out, and that, as they say, is that. I invite you to play for two years and experience the continual widening gulf of a. population imbalance and b. class abilities/RAs that Mids/Hibs have had to go through here. Then perhaps you would understand the bitterness. I would have rather kept on playing, and for a long time I did, but in the end Mythic and Albion won, causing me to cancel my account. I cannot in good conscience let them take my money for this bullshit. Aug Elding n00blet coming through, 'scuse the mess~

I don't need to play two years in a bad situation to know what's going on. I'm not insensitive or ignorant of the problems in the game, and yes, there are big problems. People will quit, on all sides (I'm tempted to say "both" sides, because it has been made into a world vs. Mythic & Albion situation), and Palomides will become a ghost town, most likely to be merged with another low population server.

And I don't blame you either for quitting, not when I've just done the same for perhaps far less pain. All of what I just said up in that last post: it might be true, it might be bullshit, but I'd be damn surprised if we could pull it off. Half of Albion doesn't care, and most of Midgard is too tired and bitter to work at it anymore, and it's not their fault. But to try to point fingers and lay the blame for a poor design decision (and certainly not an easily forseen problem, statistically speaking during initial development, the realms should all have been even) on people that are just playing the game is pure self-victimization and a healthy dose of fatalism as well. It is, after all, a design flaw arising from what was an oversight (and in Mythic's defense, not an hard one to make, really); what happens when the population swings so hard to one side?

That being said, I don't care about Albion classes & RAs and spec points and whatever else people bitch about. I played a Mercenary of all classes, not uber, just another class, when I played Albion; my vote always was for Hibernia, truth be told, but I'm allowed to let my homosexual side come out for a while. several things come to mind here.

first, it's a good thing no relics were taken or the whining and bitching about hibgard would be overwhelming. i'm suprised there's been no bitching anyway.

second, telling people that their not deleting their characters and rerolling makes them at fault for the problem is fucking assinine.

third, the albs got guard spam. whether you know who killed the guard or not is irrelevant, they got it. stop arguing this point it's just making you look stupid.

and lastly, good job everyone. sounds like it was a fun time. with that learning experience (wizards for instance) i'm sure next time will go much more smoothly.

Look, telling Albs to delete and re-roll is just NOT realistic. Why would anyone delete a L50 Toon for someone else's sake - especially when they aren't going to get any help from that person on another server? I am sure not all of the Alb L50's took a couple weeks to get there and would certainly not relish having to face that grind again on another server.

Took me around a year and a half to make L50 RR5 - no way would I delete and reroll.
