1.87c SM Pet Changes

- The lowest tier Spirit pet now has the option to equip weapons. When summoned, it will appear weaponless for those who prefer no weapons on that particular pet. When equipped, the pet can style, at a lower chance, like the other Spiritmaster pets.
- Shields have been added to all Spirit pets when commanded to equip a weapon other than a spear. The spirit pets do not start out with a shield for those who do not want them equipped.
- All Spirit pets now have a chance to use shield styles.
- All Spirit pets default their Parry ability as on. Spiritmasters can turn this option on or off via keyword menu.
Main thing in this patch letter is the addition of shields and shield styles to SM pets. Anyone testing this on Pend, let me know if there's any problems associated with these changes. If anyone has time, a test checking the block rate and seeing if it is increased with a dex buff might be interesting.

Played around a bit on Pend and here's what I've found so far:
- Dex and dex/qui buffs greatly increase the parry/block chance of the pet.
- Shield styles are very rare compared to the typical weapon taunt that we've been seeing a lot since 1.87b. There's a screenshot of a BD pet doing multiple slams within a short time period but that's already been changed, the shield styles are really quite rare now.

I did some testing today with a 50 BD and /level 44.5 Sm to see the new melee abilities. The Slam was quite rare but the SM pet did do it a few times in a row after i just left him attacking a test mob. The SM pet and BD pet also managed a Paralyze rear stun a few times. The SM pet was level 38 and did a few Slams which brings up the question, are these pets going to use these styles at any level ? A BD/SM pet in low level BGs dropping a Slam on someone might get a few complaints.
The SM pet seemed to use Enrage a lot with a spear out, Draw Out with Sword <great hand in hand with the taunt ability for PvE>, but I did not test the other weapons. I noticed my BDs pet did the Conquer to Sledghammer chain with a hammer, as well as Provoke, and Ragnarok with a sword.
Some interesting changes to say the least.

^^ Everyone knows it's coming. You can't really even begin to address pet class issues until you eradicate ML9 first (at least in RvR).

What you may see is Juggy and ML9 reversed, something like ML9 last for 1 minute and on a 10 minute timer and Juggy 1 = 1 minute Juggy 2 = 2 minutes Juggy 3 = 3 minutes and on its seperate 15 minute timer.
But now other pet classes will have a reason to get Juggy since most pets can style with weapons and shields and are actually stronger than a BD commander pet.

Dont mess with my ML9 pet I like it hitting 600+ on targets....OH well fun for the time .... hope they leave it the same for PVE at the very least

Wouldn't nerfing the ML9 ability make Midgard even more useless in PvE compared to Hib and Alb?
This has been a constant complaint in this game for a long time. I don't see a ML9 nerf coming, but you never know....

1.87D is up. Lots of interesting changes there. In regards to SMs though, the pets should now perform styles better. Should be more positionals and chains like the note says. Anyone that tries it out, let me know if it seems reasonable now.
