Volley
Das hab ich im Daoc-Forum gefunden zum Thema Volley:

"Since the recent changes to longshot and volley I decided it was time to do some testing to see if they were indeed worth it now. My Ranger on Pendragon is 46 with 50 bow skill including bonuses- he uses a heavy duskwood recurve of 99% quality. At the trainer I was dissaspointed to find that longshot was a prerequisite for volley as I feel volley is much more useful then longshot. I then set out for Dun Scathaig to test LOS over the keep walls. I was greatly excited to find I could first ground target right in front of the keep door outside, then go inside the keep and stand in the doorway to the lords tower and volley arrows onto the ground target without LOS. My next test was to try accuracy. I used ground target on a single stationary empyreon and found that 1 out of 5 arrows hit. I then found a pack of curmudgeons and ground targetted in the middle of them and found that I could strike 2 out of 3 curms with 5 arrows. I really need to test by having a high level bard AE mez a bunch of low level mobs and have them swarm around her on the ground target and see how many I can hit- my guess is I will hit hit several but arrows will rarely land in the same spot and therefore this is why the poor accuracy of volley has been reported. Some bugs or ommisions I found was that your arrow count does not show as it's going down but it is- a regular shot or moving the arrows to another spot in backpack will have it show the correct number. Also ther is no animation for volley- you just stand there and get the text message that you are firing but you can't see it. I'd really like an animation showing the archer taking out 5 arrows, plant them into the ground from a kneeling position and then fire them rapidly and automatically- right now you have to click the bow icon for each of the 5 shots after you press volley.
My conclusion is that this is becoming a worthwhile skill and one I am most likely going to get instead of IP. With this skill and a ground target right in front of the keep doors, archers will finally be able to take the role they should have in keep defence- volleying arrows over the walls into the horde of enemies trying to break in. This will also be great for wall defence in the frontiers. You may think I'm crazy for willing to take this over IP but I feel if volley is implemented properly it is much more of a class defining skill then IP is. As soon as I find some bard on Pedndragon to AE mez some low levels mobs into a swarm I'll post my results with logs here. "
"Okay in response to your question about damage, here is a brief log against the trio of lunantishee and blackthorns behind mBeo. I ground targetted in the middle of them and killed all three- my feeling is, with tightly packed enemies around the keep door, almost all arrows will hit someone within the prescribed radius of the ground target. Just to keep things simple, I did this test unbuffed and had base 195 dex- again using 50 bow skill at level 46 character and with a 99% Quality Heavy Duskwood recurve. I used store bought Footed Flight Blunts. I then tried a regular shot on another blackthorn and it did the exact same amount of damage- 462. So volley is doing regular bow damage.

[12:33:03] You prepare your shot (4s to fire)
[12:33:05] You move and interrupt your shot!
This is against a low level grey mob and I have no idea how the damage will be against a level 50 enemy. Perhaps the damage is reduced in comparison to a regular shot, I don't know. Imagine this though, several archers using volley every 15 seconds on the same ground target in front of a keep door swarming with the enemy."
"My guess is the code for volley uses a random seed to decide where the arrows lands in a certain radius from the ground target so the chances of hitting the same target twice are not good and this is the way it SHOULD be, or volley will be abused and not used for it's intended purpose. This is not a tool to use against a single target in order to hit him 5 times fast- it SHOULD suck against a single target."
"Ok thanks to a friendly animist, Foris, I was able to try this. We dueled, and he set up 5 turrets close together. Out of three volleys I was able to hit 3 times out of 5 each time- I had time for 3 sets of 5. With even more targets like at a keep door in a raid, who knows how many I could hit. I've done enough testing to satisfy myself that this is indeed worthwhile now since it has no LOS and is on a 15 second timer. One thing of note- on the last volley shot I hit the animist who was standing about one horse length from his turrets, so the radius is fairly large and his turrets were packed into perhaps one half of the target area. kurze zusätzliche info über volley /longshot aus dem critshot forum:
http://www.critshot.com/forums/showthrea...15&pagenumber=1
