What are ways of increasing your pet's casting speed?
|
I know 101 dex, red dex + 25% help.  but what about augdex and cast speed?

casting speed only affects the shade unfortunately...as far as i know, only way to increase pet's casting speed is to max it's dex buffs, and make sure you have maxed dex in your template.

Yep, that's it.
As a side note, some necros use +duration gear. While it doesn't increase cast speed, it does give your FP more duration for getting 3x pet cast spells off more reliably.

Aug dex has no effect on servant casting speed.

The theurgist haste only effects casting speed for when your pet is in melee with an enemy and you are casting instants.

I think he means to reliably get off 3x spells after an FP. There are several other threads where this was debated, and I don't remember the exact number, but I think someone said around 17% +duration. I am wearing artifacts now to level them, so I know my +dex has dropped a bit (not sure how much), and with 22% +duration I am consistently getting off 3 pbaoe spells with 3 groups of orcs beating on me. I do have a 50 enhance bot too, though.

Actually, I disagree, although, I've never run real tests to verify, I only have what I've seen my pet do. Theurg haste reduces the swing time, which indirectly increases your casting speed. Pet's casting time is based on swing + recovery, which can be up to 6 sec's. The haste will reduce the swing and recovery, thus indirectly increase your pet's casting speed. I believe when I first mentioned this, redh might have run tests, but I'm not sure.

If I'm understanding you correctly, this is news to me.
If my pet is not in melee, on passive, and I'm using pet-cast spells (such as a powertap), are you suggesting the abom's swing speed is affecting my cast rate?
That doesn't jive with my experience at all.
