Just a bit tired of this age old bug where the animist pets nuke through walls due to there being no los check at the end of the casting of their DD. All other pets have a los check at the end of the cast and even some a range check, necro, chanter, ruby sim etc.

Any eta when this fix will happen?

Actually, the only pet to have a second LoS check is the Necro pet last I heard. You just don't get hit by nearly as many pets from any other class as you do by the animists, so people see it more and assume it's an animist only thing.

The above is correct, no pets have a second LoS check .. nor do Mobs, pets are essentially mobs, there are PvE reasons why they function this way.

Necro pets do or do not have it? Thinking about it again, I'm thinking they don't because of the LoS exploits that the necros can do sometimes.

The necro pet LoS requires that the necroshade has LoS -- so the LoS exploits involve the shade getting somewhere then using one of the 'instant' spells from the Abom (which are shade casted, then pet instant)

They cannot (anymore) nuke through walls -- they can however, use the instant tap or even the PBAE (if the floor is low enough) through the floor -- but when a spell is instant, its only going to have one LoS check, which is made off the shade.

Necros are odd - I hate that bug with a passion but its probably nearly impossible to fix -- as its the fetusform casting the spell.

I vehemantly fight any suggestion to add a second LoS check on shrooms mainly because all it would take would be one person bobbing in and out of LoS to have them fail to fire indefinately - which is like 2 steps back, putting us where we were when shrooms would try to attack things out of LoS indefinately.

Any change to the LoS on them w/o either A) allowing them to position themselves to get LoS (ie: limited movement) or B) allowing us to control them via our controlled turret would really give me no reason to have them hotbared (with their low hps and NF restrictions) -- and both A or B would not be good for the game, imo of course

I also heard about the surgested insta cast DD with a 3 second reuse, but thinking about AE buffs that would kind of suck to have a spell that can't be affected by dex. I know in tower defense it's insanely useful.

and necro pets DO have a 2nd los check

the bs has gone on for long enough, animist pets are still insanely overpowered and there needs to be a 2nd los check on their dd, even if no other pet class has because no other pet class can summon 15 pets that nuke HARD and cast nicely though walls.

It's not hard to counter animist pets. And they don't nuke much different from Theurg pets, not to mention they don't snare. They only hit through walls if you get within their range. And the only reason you are noticing this is because you are either an alb (so the other pet spamming class is on your side, not against you), you lag in NF (who doesn't anymore) so the pets can get LoS of you, and finally because animist pets are stationary. Just quit it with the animist nerf stuff, because it's not going to happen.

You're going to have to learn to deal with animists rather then try to get their pets nerfed again. It's in the name of balance that no pets have second LoS checks. If they give shrooms a second LoS check, ALL pet better have it, and archers and bolts better get a 3rd LoS check (When knocking/at beginning of cast, when firing/finish cast, when the arrow/bolt actually hits you). Hey, we're just trying to make things fair right?

Yea, I decided not to comment on that. I found it funny too. I noticed how two of those are hib classes too. Everyone hates warlocks, they don't need a nerf, they just need their values turned down a tab bit. I hate to see classes get the nerf bat, especially since animists got it bad not too long ago sad

You think i like to see my rr6 warlock get nerfed? no of course not but i can at least admit that I rolled a class that is insanely overpowered, wonder when animists will realise that.

This is not a nerf request, it's a bug fix. Sure shrooms are easy to deal with in open field, but in keep/tower seiges which NF is all about these days they are so overpowered it's unreal. If there was a los check at the end of their dd there would be ways to dealing with them in towers, at the moment theres precious little you can do other than zerg through with massive numbers to deal with a choke point in a tower/keep with loads of shrooms, bainshees aeing and pbae.

They would never cast in that case, like Rena said. They don't just cast through walls, and every other pets acts the same way. The only reason you think we're grossly overpowered is because our pets are stationary and in RvR you move around a lot (thus going in and out of shrooms range a lot more).

This isn't a bug, it's a design decision by Mythic. Every pet acts the same way. Theurg pets nuke through walls if they see you, cabby pets nuke through walls if they see you, chanter pets nuke through walls if they see you. They ONLY hit you they can get a LoS check on you. I don't see any reason to just give animists pets a second LoS check unless you're going to do it every pet, but that would just make pets in RvR completely ineffective.

Warlocks don't need a nerf either. They just need their delves reduced some (some, not a lot. I think a nerf is when a lot is reduced). Animists have had enough nerfs since NF and ToA, we don't need anymore because of a system Mythic themselves put in (some were needed like the shroom limit cap). But seriously, animists can't do a damn thing in tower takes at all. Shrooms can only go on the ground and we can lifetap people on the wall, we can't even use our spec DD. Keep takes are different, but we're still pretty useless unless we're protecting from more defenders getting in or watching the oil. During these times we're one of the most and least effective classes. With a second LoS check our shrooms would basically never hit anyone because they could duck around corners and pop in and our of the keep/tower door to keep them busy. We'd go from you thinking we're overpowered to us being completely unable to use shrooms in anything but open field because of the LoS problems.

Not to mention that choke points and well defended areas are not suppose to be easily overcome.

Only if you only play in or around keeps and towers. Go try to get a group you can run around in, it's great fun. Most of the time I prefer 8v8 rather then keep and tower takes (defense is fun sometimes, it all depends on when and where you can get bombers out.
