Which poisons would work best? |
05/29/05 11:29 PM |
My infil will be spec'd 44 CS 42 DW 36 slash 34 envenom and 35 stealth. My weapons will have haste pocs and my armor will have all dot reactives. I'm wondering if I should go st/con and disease. or str/con and lifebane :-\ I know disease lowers str/healing ratio/ and speed but was wondering if it was worth it. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. |

lol sorry to tell you this but what i do on my NS is i have 3-4 weaps Battle/Malice then to MP weaps, and i poison them and then in the middle of the fight or in the begging i swap them in and out. I have 3 weaps equpted on me at one time, all 1 handers, MH, OH and then one in my 2 hander slot, the two i open with is Str/con Debuff, and then Disease or The inbalancing, then after i open, with PA or BSII i then switch over and i have Lifebane on that then after i am fairly certian the fight is going well i will then grab a weap from inventory and then equipt with the imbalanceing or Disease. So i open, Backstab or pa there are 2 poisons on him, then i hit "," and then i switch then lifebane lands or resists, then there is three, then after a few seconds i will swap in and out a weap so i will have up 2 5 poisons/debuffs on them. Try that and see how that works for you Good luck, if you dont understand plz say so and i will try to explain a little better. Been playin for 3 years hehe. Lost my computer about 5 months ago. Getting a new one soon. I know about swapping weapons and such. But at lower RR when I aint got no artis I'm most likely not going to be swapping weapons until I get some. Was wondering what would work best until then. Thanks for the input. :D |

You dont need arties to swap out weapons, you can also use a heater which i think can be used in the off hand, or like i do i have a MP weap that i swap in and out of. Alot of heaters have great stats/procs on them Axes/Heaters Arcanium Axe of the Zenith: +10strcap +10con cap lifetap proc Bladeshadow: +8strcap, +8concap, dot, spirit damge and dps shield Heater: <--- I think if you choose this route I'd go dual heaters. The heaters have almost like Arti haste procs on them. We the unwilling, led by the unknowing are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We've been doing so much for so long with so little we are now capable of doing anything with nothing. Sasuka 50 Infi R3L5 Dogii 48 friar R2L2 |

Heaters are very nice, because they do heat damage, which all other assassins are weak to (leather is inherently 15% vulnerable to heat). Furthermore, they proc DD/resist decreases for 35%, which means youll do about 35% more damage with the heater. They really are nice weaps. |

Switching weaps so you can use 3 poisons really is your best bet and that's what I did for a while and still do occassionally but honestly.. i've mostly gotten lazy and stopped lol What poisons i use mainly depends on what/when i'm fighting. i.e. if i'm fighting a tank or there are stealthers in the area i use debuff/dot but if i'm going after a caster or healer or i'm in a stealth grp I usually use snare/dot or snare/debuff. its your best friend when ganking on bridges or something to stop them from running. If i'm grp'd w/ another inf w/ viper 2 or 3 then i stay away from the dot poison as well. I'll be with 1 or 2 people most of the time. So I suppose I can stick with the debuff/snar. But I suppose I'll get an extra weapon to poison. Thanks for all the input. Oh an coululation when you said "The heaters have almost like Arti haste procs on them." I did'nt quite know what you meant. I want haste procs on both weapons. I know heaters are nice but I really want weapons with haste. |

Aye, from what i understand and what i have gotten from posts in the SB forums there are heaters with nice haste procs on them. What the heck? "Heater" is a general term for a legendary pyroclasmic weapon. All those weapons have the same stats: Thrust: 28 dex, 8% heat, 8% cold Slash: 28 str, 8% heat, 8% cold These weapons have no haste proc on them, they have a proc that debuffs your opponent's heat resist up to 35% (if they are running magic resist buffs) and I think 17% debuff on the standard player with item resists. |

Krobelus: Don't get weapons with haste procs, it's a waste for Infiltrators. Get a weapon with a proc that you like. There are many excellent choices. The people that mentioned Legendary Heat weapons are right, these weapons are great for fighting other asassins. You can carry Legendary Cold weapons (they have same stats) and switch to them to fight classes with metal armor. I personally use the Croc tooth in my off hand and the created weapon in my main hands. You can create a Shadow Blade every 10 minutes so you can have as many spares as you like. If you want to keep a couple in your inventory, you can do that too. The wepons are loaded with procs and do spirit damage =) As far as the haste goes, it is an excellent proc but here is why it is a waste. Why settle for having it on your weapon when you can have it all the time? Try this: Go to the market and buy a pair of 100 Quality cloth gloves (should be under 2 plats easy). Now get a LGM spellcrafter to place +1dex, +1str, +1con, and +8 envenom on the gloves. Next, have an alchemist put a stable celeric arcanium tincture on them as well. Now you have gloves that you can put on to place venom on your weapons, and also they will have 10 charges of 17% haste (lasts for 10 minutes per charge). After you apply poison and use the haste charge, switch to your leather melee gloves. Then go kick some ass! |

^^^ I have a similar set of haste-charged envenom gloves; however, I would caution against putting +con (or +hits for that matter) on them. Since the stats are just filler to get the +8 envenom, I recommend putting 1% resists instead of +con. Unless you are an alchemist, you should consider getting a few pairs of MP low level gloves just for charges. If you're an alchemist of sufficient skill, you can recharge them in the field using the appropriate distill. The armor level of the gloves is not a concern since the number of charges is dependent on the quality of the item. So if you get a MP set of level 1 cloth gloves, you can still put 10 haste charges (or any other charge) on them. To that end, I also carry around a pair of gloves with a damage shield charge and I am thinking of adding a pair for a damage add charge as well. |

LGW's are they way to go. Heater's for assasin's Cold,Energy, spirit for everything else. Personally I carry a spirit because all armor types are neutral to it. As far as poison's go, no need to use snare.. Disease has a speed decrease, Garrote roots, + you have CD at your disposal. using crippling is just taking up space in your invintory:p 50 Infiltrator, Peeper RR7Lx ML10 CL10 50 Reaver, Radimus RR4Lx ML8 CL8 50 Cleric, Furad RR6Lx ML5 CL7 Alb-Lance http://www.myspace.com/rad4tw |

"As far as poison's go, no need to use snare.. Disease has a speed decrease, Garrote roots, + you have CD at your disposal. using crippling is just taking up space in your invintory:p" - Radicus I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. Yes, you can stun with CD ... provided that you get PA off and provided that your target doesn't walk through you causing a "target out of view" miss. Yes, Garrote has a root component but it is broken with the next attack swing (including offhand). Yes, disease has a (very) minor snare effect that is also broken with the next attack swing. Crippling poison has its place. When I'm hunting in an area and I've found certain archers who run at the first sight of blood, I'll use crippling poison on them. The root (snare?) from crippling poison is not broken by subsequent attacks. |

I get made fun off all the time but this is what I do.. I pa with a Staff... Its mp fully sced for extra quick and dex I usually use a disease poison on it an since Im a full cs infi I use cs styles with the staff so it hurts nicely 8) then mid fight I swap to my twin thrusters one with life bane one with greater imbalace or a magic poison if I have the ingred I get two handed damage bonus that DOES stack with cs styles bonus damage from stealth. so My votes are Lifebane Greater Infectious and Greater imbalance or one of the magic poisons |
