Hey all,

I'm trying to debate a RA setup of either MoP4/Aug str 2 combo with the normal purge2/mos2 setup or if I should go with Viper2/mop3/mos2/purge 2.

What do all of you suggest?

My rule of thumb is that if I spec into viper, I'm going to go all out. So what does that mean?

Viper 3 = 30 RA points
11 Envenom in template, or composite 50 at all times for max dot damage per tic
Switch a weapon after every swing, roughly 8 weapons carried

That is what I would do if I wanted to spec into viper. None of that viper 1 or 2 stuff, waste of points imo.

Low levels of viper are very much worth your points too. Viper 1 gives you 5% increase per point invested, viper 2 and viper 3 both give you 3.33% per point invested. Anything helps, and you have to weigh the benefit of spending a lot of points on one area vs. spreading them out with some other passives like aug str, toughness, etc.

with every assassin (rr5+) having remedy the only time viper is worth it is against tanks, since most caster "fights" don't last too long...i would hands down take the MoP over viper i have never used viper and i never will...on the other hand, purge 3 is the best ability i have invested in on my inf wink

^^^ beg to differ. viper works wonders against wing helm and shades when you are fighting rangers

I'm going to have to side with Q on this one, even though I personally have Viper1 at the moment (going to drop it). However, the one caviat is that you MUST be on the TOA servers so that you have access to elemental damage. On the Classics, I don't see how you could survive without high levels of Viper.

i agree, Viper 3 or nothing... i ran with Viper 2 for awhile and just wasnt doing enough damage with poisons to be effective enough, each dot ticked for 90... Viper 3, i get each dot to tick for 120... now im just trying to get high enough RR to get purge 3...

Does having +11 envenom in your temp actually make the damg on viper3 dots increase?
Or are you just doing that so you can poison in fights instead of switching weapons?

Ill tell you what ive been having fun with. Hitting rangers or hunters with my laby 125 value dot proc with viper3 and spike. Whole lot of damg right there when the sword procs. I read somewhere on this board that it dosent proc much, just want to let everyone know thats total bs.

i'm running viper2 atm (i was annoyed with rangers). it's alright. but i think i may spec out of it again and work on something else. problem being..there isn't much else to buy lol.

the nice thing about MOP...it always works. basically..i'm using viper vs 1 class....rangers. casters...really don't last long if i play it right. high rr assassins...remedy. low rr assassins...don't really need viper.

on that lab weapon....how is the miss rate?

run some test guys, +11 enve will just make u have no variance. without ur looking at 105-120 i run viper3 and it ticks 110 average. and viper3 seems to be better than mop atm yes when u hit remedy it sucks, but seriously if u sit here and type that u are going to hit remedy everytime u attack another assassin well your wrong. Housekeepingz-mlf

Actually I do hit remedy pretty much every single time before an assassin lands his attack on me, unless I get stealth lored tongue

That's what I don't understand about assassins on the Devon cluster. The only time they seem to pop remedy at the correct time is when they have SL up.

i've found that solo fighters are often at the top of their game, where as you find someone who's not in their normal 4+ man, they don't have the reaction time. (at least this is the norm on killibury)
