The dust is sold from the NPC that sells the alchemy materials. He is in the Magic Shop on the edge of the main square in Camelot. The material will have a name os ****** ensorcelled (sp?) dust.
The dust that costs 32 silver works fine for enchanting level 51 items, as a poster above stated. Using more expensive dusts is not necessary. Have one dust applied, it it does not give the item a 35% bonus, just apply another dust. Two dusts are sometimes required for chest pieces and weapons, most other items take just one dust, in my experience.
If you use cheaper dusts, it will just take more dusts to reach the 35% bonus.
I am not certain of skill level required. Other posters assist please!

skill level depends on the level of the gear, but I'm not sure how it scales. You have to be quite high to be able to put a 35% bonus on level 51 gear though.

I think this is some sort of forgotten skill... I rolled an Alb on Classic (I play Hib ToA) and was trying to get geared out and the spellcrafter told me "you have to take this armor to an NPC. Players cannot enchant armor."
I had to walk him through the process.

the best documentation I knew about was on the original Motog's site, but it didn't make the move when it moved to the new host/caretakers. If anyone has that page saved please provide a link and we can stick it in the sticky.

Thanks Daimar for pointing that out (and giving more details in PM). I found the issue why they were not properly showing and am uploading the changes now - if you notice any formerly functional portions of the site (or anyone else) - please let me know. It should function as it was on Motogs site (nothing has been removed).
I am still working to update Motogs original work, but keep finding that I break it along the way - so have been focusing on streamlining the data it pulls so each area works the same (as it is now, as the site progressed methods were slightly changed confusing this poor little coder) and then will attempt to add all the new things without breaking it's current function again.

<<<<<
Skill level required is the same as the skill required to salvage that material safely: 900+ for arcanium-grade gear, 800+ for netherium-grade gear, etc.
NOTE: You actually can't salvage with Spellcraft. But if your Spellcraft is as high as the metalworking/woodworking/clothworking/leatherworking required for the material, you're good to go. ---Disclaimer Just In Case Someone Took The Above Comment As License To Salvage, And Ruined A Perfectly Good Hauberk Trying to Salvage It With 900+ SC And 1 Metalworking.

Can you put a few hundred mithril into the economy with this? Didn't think so.
