wat effects misntrel mezz more, quality, insturment skill, or charisma, plz let me know this before i SC my flute, such a shame to put a good mp to waist

From what I can tell, it's flute level alone. Quality may have an effect, but I haven't tested that, and I seem to get the maximum duration out of a non-100% duskwood flute.

Resists are based on spell level vs player level. And you should be worried about duration.

I don't know the answer to this question, but I should. Give me 15 minutes or so.

Hey I got back in time to edit the message. Ok here's what I just did.
Tests done on level 0 Spirit Hounds with my 50 minstrel. Tried two rowan flutes, one at 85% quality and one at 97% quality.
Both mezzes lasted exactly 29 seconds. My 99% quality DW flute lasted 55 seconds and my 91% quality (slightly lower level, blue to me instead of yellow) Edgebender flute mez lasted 51 seconds.
Quality has been ruled out. Charisma, instrument spec and enchantment bonus have not.

If I remember correctly... what makes a mezz 'stick':
spell level vrs target level
body resist
What determines duration:
instrument con level
body resists
For PvE:
diminishing returns on re-mezzing
can't mezz an enraged mob
For PvP:
Timers
RA's

I'm sorry to tell you, but a masterpiece flute is a waste. Quality has been proven not to affect to-hit-chances and duration of the mezz. Also, your instrument spec should not have any effect on either lenght or chance-to-hit.
chance-to-hit is affected by the lvl of mezz you use
length is affected by the con of your flute.
My best bet for a flute is the "Mourning Dirge of Avalon" dropping at the ghost families in SI. It cons yellow and has 10 charges of DD, which can be very useful to insta-DD an assasin at 1500 range, so he has no chance to stealth while you wait for your mezz to hit.

Body resist only affects the duration. Item/buff resists don't affect the chance for someone to outright resist a spell.

ok, so quality, intsrument specc, and cha have no effect on my mezz, soley the lvl vs lvl, if this is true, then i should just dump a bunch of resists with all those imbue points correct?
