I was told that everyone has a 13% base chance to resist a level 50 spell cast on a level 50 toon by a level 50 toon. The lower the level of the spell, a certain percentage is added to that base 13%.

If this is the way it is implemented, it would be very helpful to know how much per level below 50 that gets added to the 13%. It has to be a set amount, like 0.5% or something per level.

Ive never seen this defined this way on this board and i just did a search on mastery of focus. This would tell us if it really is worth it to spend four points on MOF2 to try to get a grey, green, blue, or yellow spell up a bit more so it will stick better; if you wont see much of a difference unless you get mof3, which is an entire realm rank, and if you arent willing to spend that, why get mof2 if it doesnt do much to a low level spell, or higher level for that matter, at the end of the day?

This would clean up a lot of peoples RA setups if this can be nailed down. Might as well throw that four points into AA2 or save them for RP1 or whatever.

I believe going from say a L39 spell to 50 the different is 4-5%, but I forget the exact numbers.

Try this:

http://www.silicondragon.com/Gaming/DAoC/Misc/

AzureTyger's spell resist formula
0.85 + ((Spell Level / 2) / 100) - ((Target Level / 2) / 100)

Examples using Mastery of Focus (realm ability) and Cabalist spells:

Level 34 AoE Disease:

No MoF - 23%
MoF 1 - 21%
MoF 2 - 18%
MoF 3 - 15% (Cap)

Level 33 Body Debuff:

No MoF - 23%
MoF 1 - 22%
MoF 2 - 19%
MoF 3 - 15% (Cap)

Level 25 Nearsight

No MoF - 27%
MoF 1 - 26%
MoF 2 - 23%
MoF 3 - 19%

-----------------------

15% base chance of resist with a lvl 50 spell vs. a lvl 50 target

~ .5% less resist rate (rounded down) for ever lvl mof raises the spell (up to lvl 50)

The resist formula has been posted in a grab bag. I dont remember the formula exactly, but 2 lvl 50 players, using a lvl 50 spell, you should have a 15% outright resists. (dunno what goes with the dual components spells supposed to have greather resists, I just feel it vs high lvl mobs)

And result of the formula is that each lvl lower of the spell you use, it's a fixed 0.5% more resists.

wow, nice. Great info. Proves that basically, MOF2 helps you out by around 4 to max 5% chance and MOF3 by ~10%. Meh! i say! MOF4 ftw! >:D

On a lvl 47 spell with MoF1 (+3 levels) you will have a 15% resist rate (which is the cap you can get)

+from items and RR does not affect resist rate. Resist rate is a function on composite spell level (spell delve level + MoF bonus) and target level. By getting enough MoF to bring a spell to level 50 then you get a 15% resist rate on a lvl 50 target. every 2 levels below lvl 50 your composit spell level is you add an additional 1% resist chance.
