spreadheal and disease

Hi,
Does spreadheal ignore the effects of disease? I saw this mentioned and was curious if this is a design choice or a bug.... If so does that reduce the benefit of disease by any credible margin? I never had it on a char in the past so I'm not 'up' on all its benefits (i.e. is it still worthy of speccing for). I'm on the classic servers btw.

Disease doesnt affect the person being spreadhealed. If you disease a cleric though... he spreadheals for half. Kinda the opposite of a regular heal.
Also disease doesnt affect paladin heals at all.

edit: Upon closer inspection of your sig, you're a cleric not a cabalist.  Still, no it doesn't really reduce the benefit, it just forces the shaman or whatever to spam disease the cleric instead of something else.

Actually my other accounts are closed :P. I'm playing a cab on the classic servers now.
From reading here then, if I disease a group of tanks (for ex) they lose str and speed and targetted heals only heal for half. If I hit the healer as well then his spreadheals will be halved too.
Have I missed anything here??

Remember, spreadheal works different than regular heals.
Regular heals is casted on the target.
Spreadheal is cast on the cleric, creates a pool of healing, and then spread to the group members.
Disease works on the target. So if you want disease to work on spreadheals, you need to disease the cleric.
Disease on the rest of the group members will just give the inherent snares and any "targetted" heals.

Nope. This, kids, is why cabalists are the most underrated class in the game. Step 1: Disease train. Step 2: Nearsight/disease healer. Step 3: Stick rr5'd pet on other healer. Step 4: Body debuff/lifetap down nearsighted/diseased healer with sorc assist.
