chanter FDS and baseline dmg shield

Hi, new chanter here. I was wondering if the FDS from mana spec and the baseline dmg shield stack? I'm pretty sure they do to some extent but I ask because I've read posts where people say to use FDS only and not with the baseline dmg shield. I havent been able to find a reason why that is so far. Is their some negative reason you wouldnt want to use both dmg shields and why you would want to use just the FDS? thanks for the replies

In times past, they didn't properly stack, and you actually lost damage by using both. That's no longer true, so if it's just damage you're looking for, you can use both without problem.
However, using the baseline damage shield means you can't take the pet out of combat by shutting off the FDS and setting the pet to passive. That means you can't use a power font or MCL while the baseline shield is up. I don't think the extra damage it adds is worth that loss of control.

Unless you can be sure to down the uber grape mob before your power bar wears. Don't forget things like staff charge, power pots, and mordems mind can all be used in combat. Most of the time I farm with both shields up as it takes less time for the mob to kill itself that way
