Baseline Nuke: 36 vs 50 modified spec damage

Hi All,
For an off the hip example, casting the baseline hib nuke:
Let’s say my modified spec (22 + 11 + 3) is 36
Than lets say my modified spec was increased to 50.
How much harder does the baseline nuke hit? Anyone have a guess?

Every 3 points of spec = about 1% more damage so i would guess around 4% more damage.
Go to pend and test it.

The correct answer is that the damage won't change, the variance will just be alot less. At 36 effective spec, you'll see something like 1.5-2 x delve. With a 50 spec, it'll be more consistantly 2x delve.
Note: those numbers are before mods like acuity buffs, toa damage %, etc.

50+8 Light Spec:
[16:21:31] You hit Thrust for 399 damage!
[16:21:33] You hit Thrust for 399 damage!

[16:21:37] You hit Thrust for 399 damage!
...and it goes on like that. Suffice it to say, no variance. That's 1.94 delve, folks. (Pend clone has MoM5)

[16:28:58] You hit Thrust for 306 damage!
[16:29:15] You hit Thrust for 335 damage!
[16:29:16] You hit Thrust for 328 damage!
[16:29:19] You hit Thrust for 376 damage!
[16:29:22] You hit Thrust for 376 damage!
[16:29:24] You hit Thrust for 319 damage!
[16:29:26] You hit Thrust for 328 damage!
[16:29:28] You hit Thrust for 312 damage!
[16:29:30] You hit Thrust for 370 damage!
[16:29:32] You hit Thrust for 392 damage!
Why that's...I think...yes! It's variance! Nearly 100 points worth! So that's 1.49 to 1.91 delve.

Actually you are right, i just got done testing and was getting about a 50 point variance nuking my bot.
So wasting 14 more spec lvls in light is totally worth it! Except then you wont have a decent pbae or heat debuff, but sure go ahead!

So is he going to spec 40 in mana as and eld or 40 in void? Whatever you do 36 in light is pretty much going to screw up your spec unless your going to be an enchantment chanter.
