Extreme test results of scout block rate - Critshot

First, before people go running all over and waving their arms around in a panic, lets say this test was not of the typical scout. This was a test of a elite scout versus an elite archer. Still, think of it what you will.

Ploppess ( Hunter attacker) had 409 dex, 50+11 bow, and 2043 ws & was using Mariasha's arrows that have +accuracy.
Falmari (Scout defender) had 403 dex and 42 + 15 shield. Did not use engage, just stood there with shield equipped.

300 shots, 26 evades, 266 blocks, 12 hits = 95.6% block rate after factoring out evade. Not too shabby! Who needs engage with that kind of base block rate!

That was the main thing I wanted to test, how well my most elite opponents can block. And it turns out they can block pretty damn well.

ok, second test was not a complete test because we only did 100 shots. I find the results very strange. Falmari brought out his melee scout. 377 dex. 32 + 16 shield.

114 attacks, 10 evades, 33 hits = 68% block rate

So a decrease of 11 shield and 27 dex resulted in the block rate decreasing by 27%?!!! That seems odd to me. And a 68% block rate without using engage still aint to shabby.

there are rumors that dex has a double effect for scores over some very high amount (250, 300, 350, something like that) for casting speeds.. maybe the same thing exists for shields?

a more solid test would be to try different specs but leave the dex the same.

Strayv the first test was 262 blocks and the second was 105 shots fired but the percentages are right ecept for the melee scout test I made it 64.2% blocks after factoring out evades well the parser I used did.

Also it was a 9 shield difference 42 + 15 vs 32 + 16.

the second test with the 32 shield spec Scout was for my benifit I wanted to see what the block rate was on my actual Scout not the slam spec I made up for the test.

.... and please try this quick and dirty log parser i wrote that was buried in the flame fest of the other thread for your test results.

You should run this on the complete log of the scout, not just the test portion.

The scout will need to first equip bow, then shield, to make sure the parser knows about it.

I call this test BS. A hunter with a drawtime of 3s hiting for 150-200 damage. It's obvious the hunter isn't buffed and he had 2000WS only in his dreams. LOL

And maybe some-one should sit back and rather than try to discredit the logs right away because they dont like what they see, ask if there's anything not being accounted for.

Does that look like Im unbuffded

The damage may be a bit low but the wrong arrow type can easily account for that. See my first time stamp for a crush arrow vs a Scout.

Did Falmari have spec af up?

Hell I only hit for 300-350 vs assasins with crush.

So yes, capt lets jump the gun eh?

Personally I could care less about the results. Block rates are high and Ive seen test before with 90% block rates, but as I said I dont care.

Maybe youd like to sacrifice the time (hours)and effort to test something for people Capt before automatically trying to discredit something. Of caorse that might leave *you* open for ridicule and inspections so I doubt it.

Cpt.Blood it is nothing to do with supporting or not supporting Strayv.

Strayv wanted to do some tests and I was willing to provide a version of my Scout on pend to let him do those test. The only other thing I have done is also attached my full log of event.

Just for the record the 42 shield speced Scout had 403 dex with 42 + 15 shield and MoB 3.

The 32 shield Scout had 32 + 16 shield and MoB1 and 377 dex.

edit The shield was a MP level 51 player made shield fully repaird with an ablative reactive on it.

Hey Wulff finaly got GoV for my Scout now busy leveling it up to 8. The level 10 proc does not seem to be worth the effort of leveling.

edit Wulff of course I had full AF spec up and the health regen saves on having to heal from bot.

The bot is 50 enhance with full ToA bonuses to buffs.

You'll come to love it.
Good move stopping at 8 but the lvl 10 proc isn't all that bad, its won me a few fights. It ticks for 30ish twice and can really add up.

Ive got a new copy of Wulff on Pen if you want to try those test we mention3d some night this week.

Nice try Wulff, but you should know by know that unlike you I'm knowing what I'm talking about. This guy has a draw speed of 3s. "Supposing" he has 250 dex and only the 3% of his MSG his bow should be already a 5.3SPD one. LOL

Even with crush arrows and AF buff he should hit MUCH more harder than that if he really had 2000WS.

PS. Falmari, when you post the results of a test you have 50% of the responsability. Posting results from a test in an uncontrolled environement is a big mistake IMO.

As I said I use the fools, thats 4.5 and im barely under 3 seconds.

Although I'm sure the tests were accurate why is damage so low? My WS is below 1900 and I hit tanks for more than that with 5.1spd Fool's.

If this is normal for bow specced hunters they seriously need some love.
