THIS is why you need to do controlled tests! Becuase this very well could point to how mythic's equation for bow damage works.


It very well looks like crit damage is calculated BEFORE the DPS is cut % is applied.

The question is - what else is applied either before or after the %. For instance - has anyone tried to do these DPS tests with a completely UNBUFFED ranger using neutral damage? - NO -





Before calling for nerfs why not find out what's actually broken ... oh, it's so much easier to post nonsense on the VN boards and qq cry

Quercus is right. 100% max crits are legit against mobs, 50% max crits versus players. I haven't seen any logs posted that score more than 50% crits versus player characters.

Tyrfiel, you obviously didnt read this thread at all because uninformed people already said the same thing you did when i was talking about how the arrow lands once you let loose the bow. I meant you coulndt get out of range, and you cant once the person lets go. These damage stats were taken from a well known ranger on gawaine named Quivna.

what im saying is, you are more likely to squeeze one more RF arrow in before they get out of range, for example, i start moving once the first hit lands and get out of range in 6.5 seconds

RF 1.5spd =222dmg
normal 3.5 =514dmg

if rapid fire is launching at 1.5 seconds thats 4 rapid fire shots that hit me after i started moving and realized i was hit and got out of range. Thats 888 damage.

If it was the normal slow speed, then i would have only been hit one time at the 3.5 second mark for 514 and by the time 7 seconds had passed for the second shot i would ahve been out of range.

Big difference.

Because you're not clear on how this works evidently. i said your DPS drops. As it is, your DAMAGE DROPS you fool. I want the DPS to drop. Since you dont know, DPS stands for DAMAGE PER SECOND. Theres a difference. But then again, you're only a rank 3 ranger, im sure you're enamored with your new class and want to get as overpowered as possible. mischief

Um there is nothign wrong with this.. nada.. yup nothing. The crit is still below the 109. It's still below the 128 you had a potential for.. Could be that the crit was actully 107+19.

Now if you show me a long that hit for 109(-15) with a crit for 130. Then I'll take notice.

Until then. Everything is as it should be.

You must be new to daoc. Let me help you out with something. Quickcast doesnt increase you cast time, it just lowers the chance you'll be interrupted.

Try to put up more legitimate points in the future, you're not even trying anymore. sad

I actually do understand that DPS remains static and your actual damage drops with a shorter attack cycle. I mistyped that part. Mea culpa.

You should re-read the beginning of this thread where the mod said to keep it flame-free. Calling me a fool and starting a weenie-measuring contest over realm rank doesn't make you right, it makes you appear childish.

From the Camelot Herald, Quickcast definition: "Available to robed casters, this ability allows them to cast a single spell with a quickened casting time. The only exception to this is the Necromancer. The Necromancer's Quickcast ("Facilitate Painworking") actually allows the Necromancer's summoned undead pet to have six seconds of uninterrupted casting time."

It's my pleasure to correct you. Apparently archer issues aren't the only ones you're misinformed about.

... ok i'll go slow again. DAMAGE.....PER.....SECOND. IT DOES REMAIN STATIC. you said it yourself, the attack CYCLE. thats an amount of time right. you do the SAME damage in the amount of SECONDS in that CYCLE. THE damage per second of the cycle doesnt drop. Here, you need an example.

You do 400 damage normally in 4 seconds. That is 100 damage per second right? Now, if you do 100 damage per second, how much will you do in TWO seconds. RIGHT! 200 damage. Your damage you did per attack is in half, but your DPS IS THE SAME!!!!!

That's true. I have a Hunter one bubble from 50. I rolled him even though archers were a joke in RvR, and I kept playing him because I love the class. It's a lot of fun.
