Ok guys, like Stardoag said I have the complete logs here and am now posting them for all to see.
First off, this is like 9 fight logs total...with half being botted and half being self buffed to get an "Idea" of hunter/ranger melee with one of the best melee hunters on galahad against myself.
As anyone with common sense knows, you would need 100+, or even 1000+ logs to get more exact. This is just to give a ballpark idea of how Hunters and Rangers do against one another. I promied everyone I would do this, so now I am.
This is not a biased test, and if I am overlooking something that makes this test biased in one way or another pleases feel free to point it out.
We also done some bow damage comparison as well, which I will post along with the melee fights.

**Extra Note--Only fights I won against Stardoag was when I landed my reactionary stun style. And in some fights I landed my stun style and still lost.
Conclusions:
You can not make concrete conlcusions by a few logs. But, you can get a general idea. I do not know whether Hunter melee is greater than Ranger, or whether Ranger melee is greater than Hunters. But I do know they are both similar. The above logs DO give a pretty decent idea (no, not an exact ratio comparrison) of the difference between Hunters and Rangers as far as melee and bow.
For those that took the time to read this log, thanks  Took me quite a while to post all this and to clean it up to a degree.

Lots of holes in this which I'll attempt to touch on... hope the flames aren't as bad this time...
*First of all ok we know Star has the advantadge with 10% relics...
*We also know that Star has more base spear and possibly higher total melee spec than Slitz...
*We also know that Star has mostly passive RA's that help his character in duels over Slitz active RA's which didn't help in these duels...
*We also know that Hunters according to Mythic should be the superior melee archer (superior means best and should win at least 80% of fights...)
*We see that in the duels that Slitz decided to post it came out to 5 wins for Star and 4 wins for Slitz (this is not 80%...)
*We also already know that you need alot more than 9 duels to get an accurate picture...
*We also know that Star is a great hunter and has great items and like Slitz is not the norm...
Slitz of course didn't post the duels with another Hunter which he had where he owned him 80% of the time according to Star... which would throw his 'biased' comparison out of whack...
Then the other point that I brought up which just got ignored with the flames is the simple comparison that if Slitz can own assassins most of the time as he proclaims... And I know that I and many other Hunters can't take assassins if their life depended on them because of evades and slow spear... Then how can you possible say that Ranger/Hunter melee is on-par or similair... 
In summation... This just shows in Slitz's opinion and some others who agree with him, that Slitz's melee is on par with Stardoag's...
Saying that this shows the Hunter/Ranger class as a whole is preposterous...

When Swift said that hunter melee was worse then Ranger melee i don't think he ment Hunter Vs Ranger. We all know that there are more fights then just H Vs R So a Hunter can beat up on ya with higher spec in melee and you using weapons weak to his gear. I don't think that proves anything about either classes melee. Now if you tested it against each class and came out with results from all the logged duels, then you might have something. I'm not saying run out and test it, just saying your fighting two different battles here.

nice work slitz. just one thing i'd like to add about comparing ranger melee vs hunter melee is that you really can't compare them by fighting each other. What would be nice is if you could get an assasin or two and a tank or two to help you guys and each duel the assasin/tank. I think results would be better in your favor simply by the fact that while dmg over time ranger and hunter may be close, one parry/evade/block/miss/bt seriously imbalances the whole thing. for example, in your duels. one evade from you and the hunter looses 1/5 of his dmg output. one evade from star and you loose like 1/20 of your dmg output. simply because you swing more times for less dmg.
anyway, that was all i was thinking the whole time. great job on the logs though. the bow dmg comparison was nice.

I'm not surprised to discover another thread exploded into flames. Our server went through the same thing this time last year. Huge debates, numerous threads, a number of duels etc and after a few months and scores of logs players came to understand that melee specced rangers simply destroyed hunters. Eventually Mythic added the 6% base damage and the insta pet.
There's way too much to fairly rip the logs apart and shake them down as it were.
There are also way too many variables. Was the dog buffed or un-buffed. In 'real" RvR the dog is almost always un-buffed. Who got lucky with procs. Did Swift win fights only when he got lucky with Dot/ablative procs or did you win only when you got the lucky procs etc,etc.
But most importantly as Swift already touched on.
What are the comparitive specs? How many spec points are invested in the "melee" lines. Pierce/dw/cd/path vs spear/bc? and how many RA pts are in passives? From the sounds of it, Swift is heavily invested in passives further skewing the results and of coarse theres the 10% relic bonus. Unless your similarily specced (1,800 spec pt in melee minimum) Swift should have pummelled you in almost every fight.
Instead yes we see fights that are very close, quite possibly decided by who got lucky ( crits/procs), despite the relic and likely a heavy advantage (my assumption) in melee spec/ras in Swifts favor.
The bow difference is 10%, always has been. Some think thats small, others not. To me its like Rangers/Scouts having a relic in their back pocket all the time that hunters don't.
In the end if throw the intangibles/spec differences out the window.
In a situation (controlled duel) where the hunter can have all his tools available and ready, the results are extremely close.
Now pretend thats real RvR, where theres a chance the pet isn't available or Swift and the pet got hit by any old AOE mezz/stun (where he can purge but the pet can't) or TWF or the pet was easily killed by incidental pbaoe and you cross swords. Or he has to take the few seconds to summon the pet (un-buffed of coarse) and chances are Swift will lose every single time and you can salute him as you walk away with your 5.5 
Despite our similarities, the classes are different. With different strengths and weaknesses and differnt problems.
