Taking INput But I am pretty sure I am sticking with this spec |

To help better my PvE potential, I was looking at this as a spec: 50 Valor 44 Large Weapons 35 Parry 11 Shield 6 blades 2 Blunt Okay, the 50 valor is obvious, final buff, final DD, etc. 44 large weapons gets me get the follow up to Ultimate Recovery, which happens to be based off of parry. 35 Parry to help my defensive ablity while being able to doll out nice damage, and the blades and blunt spec just to kill of extra points. I am going to be a celt as well. I know shields are for PvE, but I plan on RvRing a good deal, so, I wanted to go LW so I can do some decent damage out there :-P Anyway, thanks. Later. hey, you're right, 50 valor is a must, however I got to level 41 with a lw champ and wasn't too impressed, it might have been the fact that she was a lurikeen tank, but I respecced and it is working out much nicer for me. 50 valor 44 pierce -for faster attack speed and bleeds 35 sheild -make up for low con that luri's start with 12 parry - just cause you can easily get armor crafted for a bonus. you kill things slower, but you also live longer, after dieing really fast in rvr as a lw spec, I learned to like this. And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord for thee, Power hath descended fourth from thy hand, That our feet my swiftly carry out thy command, So we shall flow a river fourth to thee, And taming with souls shall it ever be. I know others will also comment on this, but i think you will be dissapointed for a number of reasons. 1. The high level LW styles (ultimate recovery) arent based on YOU parrying, its based on your OPPONENT parrying you, you hit that style when you hear the clink and you will get the style off, unless you miss. Its a good style, but how often can you pay attention to such details? In solo pve, its a reasonable style, any other time, you wont use it, things go to fast. 2. The level 50 LW style is a rear positional and procs a 9 second stun....they dont call it annilalation for kicks! When people turn to run from you, you bonk em on the head, and unless they burn purge, they wont take another step. Without the level 50 style, you are reliant on your snare for stopping runners. This is a poor solution since it breaks when someone damages them (aoe fallout, etc) 3. Everyone is convinced that low parry is terrible. I dont know if i agree with that or not since theres a lot of dual wielders out there; parry helps in one vs ones. However, any tank/assassin that picks you as a target first isnt a good player. They might win, but you should really be more concerned with hitting vaulable targets such as enemy support or stopping your counterparts from hitting your support. Either way, you wont be swinging at people who are swinging back at you. This makes parry a less useful investment. 4. Max style damage. Okay, champs need help as a class....really. LW styles suck down a lot of endo (pay attention to point #3 if you think a bard will always be available). You need to get the most damage/bar of end you can. Going 50 LW will up your style damage and make this possible. Teddybear's spec doesnt look to bad, most s/s champs swap weapon for shield for the stun style at level 42, but I can see some advantage of higher weapon skill too. 50 valor/50 LW/ 28 parry - tried and true. |

well, I feel pretty stupid. I just realized a few days ago I was sacrificing annhilation for another 3% parry and of course I've nevre gotten a LW user beyond level 24 before I had no idea about ultimate recovery. Tky for saving my champ lol. If I do decide to get a shield for my champ tho I am going 50 valor 42 shield 39 blades or crush...relive my thane in hibernia imo ;-) Illfated 50 Bard Kay Nosmiles 50 Necro Mordred Tirium 50 Thane Percival Outlawed (all 10 of them) Gareth **Gareth and Kay, needed new mids :) |

I just copied my champ over to Pendragon and respecced. My usual spec is 39 LW 42 Parry 50 Valor. I respecced to 50 LW 28 Parry 50 Valor. On OJ con mobs in POC I hit for approximately 20 damage more with 50 LW than I did with 39. Yeah, I probably could have done more by trying to get behind them and using annihilate, but same styles on similar mobs with same weapon, the damage difference was negligible. Oh, I also parried about 1/2 as much, so I got off less parry chains, thus doing less damage, and got hit more, meaning more ass-time. In a way, I'm glad I rolled badly on yesterday's dragon raid for stones, cause had I a full respec, I would have used it. This saved me having to go get ANOTHER respec stone. IMHO, the ONLY reason to go past 39 LW is for the 50 style, and that's a LOT of points to burn for a stun. If you have somebody running from you, debuff debuff nuke snare. If they are gonna purge, they'll need purge 2, or purge 3 if they've already purged somebody else's mez/root/stun. P1 gives you 5 seconds of catching up time, and if you catch somebody who is going to be running from you to start with, they're hamburger with or without Anni. If it's a tank, you weren't getting many back shots off anyway. Unless you outnumber him and then it's just cat and mouse anyway. The only time I see you REALLY needing a stun is for MOC PBAOE'rs. ST works fine on them too. Anyway, that's my long winded way of saying 50 LW ain't really all that, and 39 is fine. |
