Ok, what raised the weaponskill, weaponspec of str boosts or both?
Is it possible that the decreas in being evaded was due to a gradual increase in your strength?
See, there is the possibility that what you have observed is 1005 correct just that it was due to another factor that you increased along with your weaponspec.

I understand that. Now, what if your attacks being evaded less was due entirely due to your str boosts, then you could have the best of both worlds.
As I mentioned, the link to Black_metal tests (again, a small sample) indiscates that there may be a noticeable impact on evade rates when styling. Thus, I suggest further investigationg into the "penetrating defense" aspect of this.
The damage portion is holding up quite well in testing and only really 1 question remains. Is it 50 or 51 spec that the benefits stop at.
Now this is important for several reasons. Foremost is, not wasting spec points. Second, if it is 51 (which would make some logical sense with realm rank 5 being level 51) I would think there is a distinct possibility that other spec have a 51 ceiling. Well, what other specs concern sblade? Stealth mainly. Perhaps benefist of stealth spec stop at 51 modified and not 50 modified as people assumed.

DW and LA are two completely different mechanics and spec lines, they made the RA different for SB's and NS/infs

No, thats incorrect.
SB with 300 STR and 1500 weaponskill
SB with 300 STR and 3000 weaponskill
Both get hit with enervating poison
Both are affected EXACTLY the same. Thier STR drops by same amount, so they are affected the same.
That is as plain as I can explain this "theory".
The dealbreaker here is Weaponskill. Id it is STR and not weaponskill that counts for penetrating defenses, then this is really great news, and frees up a ton of points for other things. If not, well, nothing really changes.
I think testing miss/evade/block/parry rates with a constant STR and with weaponskill as the variable would pretty much seal the deal.

This thread got me interested enough to dust off my SB and take him out again.
I respecced to 45 CS, 34 sword, 34 LA, 33 Stealth, 30 env.
First inf I fought i Garroted for 98 mainhand, he turned around and garroted me back for 263 mainhand.
Back on the shelf he goes.

I respeced today to 44cs, 36la, 36sw, 35stl and 24 env all +15 in light of this info.
I noticed that my anytime damage was similar to my previous spec of 46la, 41sw and 10cs.
But I now have a PA/CD/SS chain and when I evade I have a 3 part chain that does ridiculous damage. I hit a fully bufffed rr6 inf for 450 mainhand on a leaper (may have been one or all of str/con debuffed, malice debuffed, and lw debuffed).
Made 60K today solo all day on Merlin with a 3K irs. I also won a lot of 1 on 2s and 1 on 3s against similar rank alb and hib stealthers. Have to give thanks to mez poison too

I swear something has to be wrong in the code.
But they way I always looked at equipping two weapons on mid toons was this : average specs would make each weapon an SB equips the equivalent of a lvl 40 weapon.
How does this translate to using CS styles becomes my question, is it a stacking effect? Where as an inf and nightshade get full bonuses due to the fact that they dont have our unique offhand equipping system....
Of course... did u actually style or were u looking at a unstyled hit? Were you using a heat weapon?

I was fully buffed, aug str 3, mop 3, etc. 337 str.

Wyrd, if you really want to help the SB community, you should try to figure out just what the hell is wrong with LA damage. It is far, far, far below what infs are able to put out. Not to mention other melee classes. Its so out of whack its sickening.
I'm RR6L6, maxed out suit, 20 overcap str, etc, and i'm often outdamaged (literally) 2:1 by infs of much lower realm rank. Yes i'm using heaters, malice, etc. There is literally nothing i can do in terms of equipment to improve this character.

The problem with LA is simple, it's the penalty.
Honestly, the penalty to LA should be applied to the offhand only since that is the factor that we are compared with the others against.
LA swings every time but hits for reduced damage, and in return DW/CD swings a percentage of time for full damage. How the hell our mainhand got nerfed in the design is a mystery I'm sure no one will ever figure out.

if your hitting for less then 100 with 337, your a liar. my garrotes do 150+ easily, and i only have 10 more str atm. if its an inf and i have my heater out, 190 is a low hit :/

I have been trying to convince people that more than 50 modified weaponspec is a waste if you arent using styles from that line for some time now. This thread is a satisfaction for me after being called wrong so many times
The only thing new to me is the "higher base weapon spec does not help with penetrating passive defenses" part. In fact, that was the only thing that made me hesitate to respec 35 thrust. I guess ill give it a try now. Losing DF is an issue, but i believe the increase in anytime damage will make up for that, especially now that the duration has been lowered.

i use double frost.....and i hit for 220-270, the only time i ever hit for 100-150 like you people complain about is when str/con debuffed, if you haven't figured out that str/con debuff is what makes you suck ass..then you're retarded 
anyways, i have purge3 and i don't have str/con debuff on me for long if i can help it
