Here's a log trying to test the theory that a double attack will result in an average delay of the two weapons.

Possible outcomes:

-Always mainhand delay: Should see a 4 sec delay.
-50/50 chance of being either hand: Should see it varying between 2 and 4 seconds
-Average: Should see a 3 sec delay.

I removed all my armor and jewelry. I had 60 Qui (no haste from Qui), and was using a 3.7 delay bronze Gladius with a 2.2 delay bronze dirk, and I was beating on a milefort gate.

My conclusion:

The majority of the double attack rounds resulted in a 3 second delay, which is the average of the two weapons. The few anomalies are easily explained by the system rounding the decimal places.

Umm, where's this quicker time thing coming from?

It works EXACTLY the same as with LA, except if we DON'T get off a double attack, and swing with our main hand instead, we're stuck with the slower delay. If we swing with the offhand, we do crap damage at fast delay.

What's your point?

I use dual Long Dirks. They have 2.9 delay..so I don't really care about the average.

Base damage for a 2.9 dly weapon, is 144. I can only see that against blues, or non-50 yellow casters while I'm buffed. At no other time does it ever get that high.

If I was to switch to a slow-fast combination, say down to a Dirk (2.2 speed), I'd be hitting base for approx 105 MAX. I think it's tested up in the first post. Either way, against a lvl 50 squishy in epic/sc armor, that would go down to 70-80, which is about what a Zerker offhand does to me, and it would drop lower against an armored opponent. So I still fail to see your point. Just for information, my long dirk offhand will hit a squishy for 110-120, and an armored opponent for 80-90. Hardly leagues ahead of Berserker offhand damage.

On the other hand, using my best lvl 50 DW Front position, defensive penalty style, without any QUI/HASTE buffs, I can hit for 268 MAX (again, against blues, or non-50 yellow squishies). Base is 144. 268-144 = 124. That's my max Style bonus for a lvl 50 advance weapon spec positional style with a penalty and a 24dmg over time bleed. In a perfect round, I can do 268+144 = 412 damage.

So basically, you're telling me that a skill line like DW/CDW that gives you a CHANCE to swing for up to full base damage is better than huge frontload damage in RvR?

If that's the case, I'm sure the entire Mercenary/Blademaster community would be more than happy to do an even swap and call it a deal.
